I'm fine with changing both.

Between the off-season (Burnes trade specifically), the draft and the trade deadline, the FO is taking a hit not matter how you slice it.

In his limited PT since his ML debut, Mitchell has hit fairly well, just not able to stay on the field.

Actually, it took a couple months for Chourio to start to hit.

So we are still at zero! And I'm not just talking a flash in the pan , but a sustained solid career .

This is almost certainly a front office dictate.  The Brewers don't want most of their starters going 3 times through an order. The bigger issue is the Milner has become super hittable and should not be counted on.

If there IS such a mandate, then they're going to HAVE to rely on him & everyone else in the pen.

He's had a subpar year, certainly. But his last, I dunno, 5 or 6 outing before today have been good. But I thought Myers made some nice pitches to Abrams, & Yepez is not someone I want a lefty pitching to. Should've gone at least two more hitters.

Did Murphy just say Hoby's been unbelievable for them? There is so much about his presser I have issue with.

Depends on what reference you mean with "unbelievable"

Which part(s)?

Black has been called up and sent down twice this year after not performing. If he's the best we got in the minors then nobody else will make any impact. This is the Garrett Mitchell talking point all over again.

Murphy's lucky not be in a large market ! One question about pulling Toby with no follow up questions!

Were those kids there.  That’s why no one asks rougher questions

The NL Central is the best division top to bottom in MLB (Won / Loss record & run differential)

Of course, the reason for that is completely explained by the bottom.

The bottom team in the Central is the Reds with a record of 53-58 with a run differential of +28.

The anchors in the other divisions are the Marlins (42-70, -140), Rockies (41-71, -172), and Nats (51-61, -56).

Unless something changes no Central team will get one of the 3 wild card spots for the second year in a row

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

If you mean helping offensively RIGHT NOW, he probably is, if you're talking regular ABs. If he makes it back up here he has a regular LH DH role available that Yelich vacated. Earlier when he was here, some teams had fewer late-inning setup men than we had first basemen.

If recalled, he should just be plugged in to the DH spot & see what happens.

One more snippet I'd like to add. From what I saw today, Contreras & Adames had six pretty bad ABs out of their eight total trips to the plate. That has to get better. Contreras had TWO 3-1 counts (one 3-0 actually) his first two times up & both ended with pop flies to the opposite field. When you combine that with Willy's patented strikeouts while seeing maybe one pitch in the zone (if that) you're going to struggle.

Yup. This season keeps feeling like 2022 over again.  We had amazing first two months (then because of unreal pitching), the started to struggle and the draft was meh, and awful trade deadline. And the team started to fade.  I mean not exactly the same timelines but close enough.  Ugh.
Like Lauer, Ashby, houser not sustaining and J. Alexander crashing back to earth in ‘22 (ok close enough to how I recall the season going)
Turang, Ortiz can’t sustain, and Hoskins never clicked, and Contreras has crashed hard since his great start and  his crash at home plate.  Without Yelich the offense disappears, and the pitching is no where near good enough outside a few relievers to carry the team.

Big difference between 2022 and this year is that after 111 games in 2022 the Brewers were already 1.5 games back of STL.

This year they will be 4.5 or 5.5 games ahead depending how tonight goes.

At this point I think any hope of this season ending up in the world series relys on Yelich finishing the year in the lineup and hitting well. Without his bat their screwed now that the trade deadline has passed.

True. As I said the timing wasn't right and the details aren't the same, but the July/August swoon still feels more that club than the 2018, 2019, 2021 or 2023 clubs.

But fair points, and reminds me that if I go by memory (and not fact checking myself) that I will be wrong more often than not.
