Nah, it's normal procedure for you, so I wanted you to know that some people notice your holier than thou attitude on these boards.  I have no problem admitting when I'm wrong, happens often.

You made an attempt to make yourself look better than others, and it failed.

I realize that you will have to have the last word and to feel you have won, so I'll give you the last word, but you do think you are better than most, and it's good for you to realize that it isn't true.

In the end, I'd like to think I know what I'm thinking better than you do. And that you asserting otherwise does ironically reek of the very superiority you're supposedly calling out.

Regardless, nothing "failed" because Montas was screwed over by CB Bucknor.

To be honest had montas really been that great?   He had a great game last game but wasn’t every other one like 4-5 innings 3-4 runs

Montas CIN vs MIL

ERA
5.01 vs 2.57

FIP
4.93 vs 3.55

K%
19.0 vs 23.3

BB%
10.0 vs 8.9

HR9
1.35 vs 0.86

AVG
.255 vs .219

WHIP
1.44 vs 1.19

He cut his ERA in half and improved across the board peripherally with the Brewers going 4 W - 0 L in his first four starts.

They’d be tied 2 to 2 today if CB Bucknor knew a strike from a ball.

Based on expectations after his acquisition, yeah, I’d say he’s been pretty great.

I'm kind of in a weird spot with this team, feeling super impatient to just win the division already while also knowing we just have to be okay, while also feeling like slightly hopeful we can get the 2-seed, while also really, really wanting the other NL teams to stick ahead of the Cubs and Cards so that there's no shot we have to play one of them to open the playoffs. Then that Langeliers AB about broke my brain.

It's hard to thread the needle between being realistic and greedy. I was really confident we'd be better than people thought this year, but the plus 100 run differential and 10-game division lead with 32 to go (assuming this result holds today) has exceeded my wildest expectations.

Why would we not want to play the Cubs or Cardinals to open the playoffs? They suck, and it would be  highly enjoyable to end their season.

If we're going to be the 3 seed, which is the most likely scenario, I'd rather open with either of them than any of the other likely alternatives.

NOW we get the low strike. Lol.

Gritty performance for Montas. 6 strong there. Bad calls went against him at bad times but gave the team 6. We'll see what Ashby has next.

Because being eliminated by the Cubs or Cardinals in the playoffs, after running away with the division, would be absolutely horrible. Intolerable. Rather not risk it. Too emotionally fraught.

I do agree with this.    Cubs or cards could beat us in a three game series.    That wouldn t be right

I'm a Brewer fan, I'm quite accustomed to the annual October tradition of a massively disappointing playoff exit. Having it be to the Cubs or Cardinals would just be a different type of disappointment.

I'd gladly roll the dice on being able to hang our hat on knocking one of them out than the usual knockout by a random NL East team.

I don't mean this as anything against you guys at all, but to me being afraid to face the Cubs or Cardinals in a 3 game series is about as much of a losing mentality as we could possibly have. Feels like being conditioned to be afraid of failure after decades of disappointment.

I get it, I understand where you're coming from but man, I hope the players and organization don't feel that way. I hope they'd relish that opportunity.

Mitchell has had kind of a bad run lately, and still playing some good D. Way out there on the steal attempt and some (a lot of) strikeouts.

Looking forward to seeing Ashby but he cannot walk the leadoff hitter, like he just did.

CB is a joke

I think he was fooled because of the bunt attempt.

Which is no excuse, he's just really incompetent.
