Wow... that was like a walk off defensive play!

Perkins robs a homer and Bauers does that…..we win by 1

Still like Megill closing better than Williams. It’s not a bad problem to have, that’s for sure. But Williams goes in, and get your BP cuff ready.

Williams walks a lot of guys. He always has and always will. 4.3 w/9 per his career.  Take the good with the bad. Dude's dominant. One tv guy (who's a clown) says he needs a 3rd pitch and the guy has been outlandishly dominant for 5 years. He's fine.

3rd game in 4 days for Devin after 25 pitches yesterday was too much to ask of Devin…….Murphy needs to be a little more cautious with his usage…….we have MeGill…..we have Payamps……we have a 10 game lead……use them!

Williams was absolutely lights out until Murphy let him throw 30+ pitches on a back to back in St. Louis. He has been extremely shaky since then. Feels like Murphy is going to run him into the ground despite our 10 game division lead.

A third pitch definitely wouldn't hurt though. He has an average cutter, I think he should use just once in a while at least to throw batters off

He might be fatigued. But he has always had problems controlling the change. It is what it is. I trust him to tell Murph if he really needs a day. I'd be shocked if they didn't go to Megill or Payamps in a save situation tomorrow.

He has the second-lowest career ERA in the history of the sport, without a third pitch and with a career walk rate barely any better than this year's walk rate.

Nobody should even entertain the idea of him needing a third pitch or pitching anywhere but the 9th inning.

7-2 vs A’s, Giants and Reds so far. Gotta keep beating the below-average teams

Why? I mean.... not being sarcastic, but why? His fip the last 5 years is like 2.50. His ERA for his career is *under* 2. Nobody hits him. It's easy for us to say "he should develop another pitch because it's nerve wracking watching him!" The results are what they are.  He isn't suffering the normal volatility good and mediocre relievers go through. He's dominant.  The flip side of this is I don't want the guy fiddling around with new pitches and messing up his delivery, when he's clearly right now one of the most dominant relievers in baseball.

Just want to say it again. Get Bryse Wilson off the roster. He now hasn't pitched in a week despite having a doubleheader during that week. A total waste of a roster spot who Murphy doesn't trust unless we are losing by like 3+ runs or winning by 6+. Ross can be a longman and we can bring Peguero or Mis/Yoho up considering they will actually be allowed to pitch.

Need to keep splitting series at worst.

Don't get swept.

Can't use Williams in 3 out of 4, but Payamps in 4 of out 5 would have been OK?

Williams and Megill both pitched yesterday, and Williams had thrown 36 pitches over the last 3 days vs. Megill having thrown 29 over the last 3 days, and Williams had had a week off prior to that. Just go with your best guy. If Megill had a shaky inning, people would be losing their mind that Murphy left their best reliever in the bullpen over a 7-pitch difference in the last 3 days.

Yeah, not sure I'd say he's been "extremely shaky" since then as...he threw 2IP after that giving up 1 Walk and nothing else in the following two outings and it's been 10 days since that outing.

I think we may be reading a bit too much into...nothing.
