Just regarding luck in the playoffs:

Mitchell smoked that ball, but a little lower and it's MAYBE an RBI double. Or maybe not.

Pete Alonso tripping on a bat in the first might have been a huge play.

You just never know the weird things that turn these crazy games.

Like the D-Backs? I feel like we hit about 8 balls with a 100MPH Exit Velo...and the DBacks had about 8 hits balls drop in or eek through the IF.

Even the Mets seem to have had several seeing-eye singles.

Game 1 in 2021 against the Braves.

Getting the playoff monkey off their backs is a start, but it will be a blip if they lose tomorrow.

That's the spirit!

What's the lineup look like tomorrow?

Do we hit Turang near the top of the lineup?

Turang-2B
Chourio-LF
Contreras-C
Adames-SS
Mitchell-RF
Sanchez-DH
Hoskins-1B
Ortiz-3B
Perkins-CF

I don't know, Chourio will probably hit leadoff vs the lefty and Perkins back in there hitting 2nd, but 5 for 8, 2-2 tonight. 3 doubles in the series.

And Quintana is a guy who likes to pick around the edges...

Who are we moving up, down, whatever?

I think we get something very similar to today. The only change I'd contemplate is Mitchell for Sal.

One thing I'm really curious about is whether our approach changes with Quintana. I know there was frustration with the lack of walks (and for some good reasons), but it seemed obvious to me that attacking early in the count was a plan for the Crew these first two games. Quintana is a different kind of pitcher, so we'll see if we see more of those grinding ABs.

Well, I figure I had better made a final comment.

im glad that the Crew came back to win.  I really am.  This whole post season is, to me, gravy and I really need to just enjoy the ride.

have fun watching tomorrow, everyone.  I’ll be taxiing to the runway about first pitch time tomorrow.  I hope the pilot will give me updates since Allegiant doesn’t have WiFi.

I forgot about Sal! LOL...but I think it's a given Perkins is in there and...you're not losing any defense and Mitchell doesn't play vs lefties, but he has hit them better.

I'd just make Quintana throw a lot of pitches.

We turn the table on Quintana tomorrow.

I think they will likely run the same lineup out there as today

Probably...I was just thinking Turang was having a historic start to the playoffs and maybe it's worth getting him atop the lineup setting the table for Jackson and company.

Man, I love me some Garrett Mitchell. What a wonderful guy:

He needs to get some bats tomorrow. If he's feeling it, he needs to be in there.

So I assume that a win tomorrow gets you the dodgers?

No, I think it's the Phillies. We're the highest seed.

I thought we could only play the Phils in the Division Rd?

Who do you think comes out of the pen tomorrow?

I’d say Payamps is out. He’s on two straight days.  Not sure about Ross but probably out.  Civale just went three innings Tuesday.  Not sure he’d trust Ashby right now but maybe.  Hall thrust into an elimination game?

Williams can go.  Megill is probably able.  Mears might have to.

Short leash in an elimination game.

I trust Ashby just fine to start an inning, not with men on.

Hall is likely ready to go a few innings after Myers. If we get 3-4 out of Tobias, play it by ear, but maybe 2 out of Hall depending on the situation.

Then...just whoever. Koenig could go again, Megill, Williams. I think Mears will be a big part of this team next year, but I don't trust him right now.

Whatever it takes.

I see Colin Rea is out. Too bad. He was good in relief.

Colin Rae.

Not feeling super confident about Colin Rea right now in a short stint out of the pen...and I think we're fresh enough we don't have to.

But I do feel alright about Hall, so...others may disagree.

Good observation about Ashby starting an inning.

I think we should be prepared to have 4-5 relievers go, at least.

Koenig threw 7 pitches. Ross threw 12. Devin threw 10. All those guys, plus Ashby, should be good for two innings as needed. Maybe you're more careful with Ross since he's not used to the role. Devin only having like 25 innings means this is the time to push.

Between that and Myers, plus Megill, who threw 22 pitches but should have at least an out or two in him, it should give you enough.

On the Mets side, Stanek has thrown a lot. Butto should be available after a day off. Diaz has had two days off, but still threw 66 pitches over the last four days. Matton obviously gave it up tonight.

They've got more fresh arms in Ottavino, Brazoban, Peterson, and Young. Plus Garrett who only threw one tonight. The question is how much they trust them. Ottavino and Brazoban seem to be low on the list.

I'd bet you see shortish leash for Quintana, hope he gets through 4 or 5 two times through, and then you book Diaz for an inning plus (maybe two) on the back end. In between, it'll be matchups, matchups, matchups.
