You must not have been around during the 70s and 80s living in Green Bay and watching truly dreadful football all those years.

But the 1960s for the Lombardi Packers was unbelievable. Five World Championships in 6 tries.

He gave up 3 ERs this year.

2 ERs came on one of the 3 times he pitched in Back to Backs, that was on August 15th vs the Cards.

Is the inference you should have taken that into account before throwing him out there last night? That's a helluva reach if so. That's one outing that went into extras vs the Cards early back from coming off the DL.

Just FWIW, but he pitched back to back days on Aug 30-31 in Cincinnati. He would have given up 2 runs and lost the game on the second day, if not for an incredible defensive play by Jake Bauers

Went to all 3 WC games, and what a wild, exciting and ultimately brutally painful ride that series was. Finally decided to read through this thread today.

After Bauers and Frelick (!!!) went back to back, it just seemed like there was no way we were going to lose. I pulled out my phone in the RF bleachers after Sal's HR and almost bought NLDS tickets, but decided that was tempting fate and quickly put it back in my pocket.

That has to be the worst loss I've ever seen in person at any sporting event, and will likely never fully get over that.

But, let's get this winter over with quickly. I'm ready for pitchers and catchers to report.

Unlike Brewers fans you have actually seen the Saints win a championship so no fans outside of the Mariners and Padres in baseball understand the agony of being a fan of this team.

We don't even have a baseball team. Alas!

I finally read through this thread after being there for Game 1 and 3. Game 3 was just such a swing of emotions so quickly that's what makes it such a kick in the balls.

Game 6 2011 you knew it was over right away, Game 7 2018 there really wasn't much to cheer about after the Yeli homer, and getting excited when that guy made that amazing catch and robbed us.

This was legit pure joy, it felt like it was "meant to be" that we would win after Game 2 and then the back to back homers from two of the younger/new guys. My buddy and me were hugging random guys in our section, we all had our rally caps on and the guy behind us called the Bauers HR a second before he hit it saying "Watch Bauers is gonna get into one" and it happened! It was pure magic! Then Sal with only 2 HRs all year was the icing on the cake. The crowd was insane.

I was in the left field upper level. After the top of the 9th ended I saw a random ball get throw up about halfway up the terrace level. Turn around and realized it was Chourio chucking the ball up that entire way in anger after that inning ended. Pretty insane toss. It's too bad he couldn't get to the plate in the bottom of the 9th.

Thanks for sharing for those of us not in attendance.

Just watched the 2 HRs for the first time since live on television. Man, that is gut-wrenching. Was having a BBQ at our house with a bunch of friends, after attending the night before, watching on the television outside. Absolute elation... could hear cheers in my neighborhood... followed by my soul being crushed.
