Game 16: Packers @ Vikings - Sunday, Dec. 29th 3:25 PM

NFL coaches can’t manage the clock, like, at all. I’d love to see if playcalling coaches are worse at this than non-play calling ones.

That was really pathetic by the Vikings coaches.

Yeah, not sure where some of this stuff is coming from but there is clear gap between Philly/Detroit/Minnesota and everyone else.  That Packers are what, 0-5 against that group if they lose this one?  Not all that competetive

Not as pathetic as that defensive effort leaving Hock wide open over the middle and still allowing them the shot at 3.

They all have better QBs and quite a few other pieces as well.

Exactly, much better teams.

Eh, I disagree. Execution is the difference in this one. I don’t think the talent gap is huge. Jefferson is an all-world talent, and Love has made a couple weird decisions, and suffered a couple brutal drops. Then Jacobs fumble to start, and I see a lot of unforced errors. Like on that FG attempt, I guess…

If this was a one off, I’d be inclined to agree with you. It’s not.

This is 5 times.

If you do boneheaded things in 5 straight big games, it’s not really just bad luck anymore, it’s kind of part of your identity.

Weird officiating. Wicks looked like he backed up before the snap on that 3rd and one, too, and still got called. Not sure what’s going on.

But that has sort of been our Achilles heel all year. The good teams just wait for us to make mistakes.

Hmm... Same ref?

That was a free three points for Minnesota. Now if they come out of halftime and make it 20-3 the game is all but over. The good news is they seem to play very well in one half of a game and not so much in the other.

Next big game that we have, MLF should just meet the opposing coach at midfield pregame, allow himself to be pantsed by the opposing coach, trot back to the sidelines, trousers around ankles and save the teams the wear and tear of the actual game.

Can’t play the Saints and Spencer Rattler every week, Matt.

It's just an IGT thing to make the Packers sound like the worst team in the NFL any game they're losing. Even if it's by like 7 points.

That said, I think the Packers have habitually been flat, with a lot of these kinds of mistakes in these huge games quite a bit this year that there is valid criticism to be made.

To me, it just looks like a good team that is, young, and still on the upswing, but not ready for the brightest lights quite yet. On offense they lack a receiver that really scares anyone and defensively they rush inconsistently and lack a playmaker in the middle.

And we oblige in spades.  I don't get these arguments that execution isn't part of what makes good teams good and bad teams bad.
