I think it comes from the games where they (Minn) barely win against a bad Jaguars team 12-7 with Mac Jones at QB, have trouble against the Bears in a 30-27 game in the Eberfleus mangled clock management game and have to make a comeback to edge the Cardinals 23-22 at home.

It's not that scientific for me. It's that I've watched some outstandings Vikings teams blow it.

They got it but I don't understand why they did it.

That made no sense.

It makes total sense. You’re going for the TD and FG to win now, not to tie. That’s why they did it. If you fail you can still try the 2 again later to play for the tie, and failing that you just need to play for 2 TDs. It showed that they have no intention of playing for OT.

I don't like when people pick one play early in the game and then pretend that the rest of the game would have unfolded the same. But I'm about to do it:

That total concession to give up a FG before the half is big. And of course he missed the FG and we bailed them out.

Giving up the TD after closing back within 10 in 3rd quarter pretty much ended the what if's for me.

Any of it is just a microcosm of the game in general.

but it's not like every guy suddenly forgot every piece of advice he gave

That's what the Vikings do. But it also makes the Packers performance today look worse

That stuff happens, bad defense, ok. But they made a deliberate decision with 13 seconds to play to just let Minnesota pick up whatever underneath and kick a field goal. You might as well keep it a one possession game. If they hit a big gainer, well ok then they kick the FG.

Even if they get a TD, which is bad, it's a 2 possession game which it also is with a FG. It was a situation where any points were a huge deal and they didn't treat it like one.

And if they would have kicked the field goal they would be going for the lead here.  This is why you take the points when you can get them.
