Ok. Expected there was a move - Patrick to AAA or move him to the bullpen (with a bullpen arm going down- although not sure who had options that needed to go down).

The answer is for Chad to continue getting starter innings in AAA.  I could still see him as a bullpen add if the team needed a 6th/7th inning right handed pitcher in August/September, or filling in Miz spot in the rotation if they needed to limit his innings.

Or another long leverage reliever?

What is Berroa’s injury?

Is it short or long term?

Sounds like it is shoulder bursitis and he last played June 19th.

Bursitis is extremely painful - I know from experience

I hope he heals quickly & can play well in Nashville

Not an official transaction (yet), but a heads up -

Circling Back:

Official Now.

  • RHP Vinny Nittoli has been released by the Nashville Sounds (this was obviously a mutual and collective decision between the player and the club as Jim indicates above)

Ok. We have some minor bookkeeping to perform here as transactions appear to be appearing and back-dating themselves as they roll in through official channels:

  • RHP Bishop Letson was transferred from the 7-Day IL to the 60-Day IL
  • INF Juan Ortuno was transferred from the 7-Day IL to the 60-Day IL by the ACL Brewers - retroactive to 7/14
  • RHP Josh Timmerman was transferred from the 7-Day IL to the 60-Day IL - retroactive to 7/14
  • LHP Tyler Jay has been activated from the 7-Day IL
  • RHP Fausto Barreras was activated from the 'Restricted List' by the DSL Brewers Blue

By my sheet the Brewers now have 13 open slots on the 165 player stateside limit.

33 in AAA, 30 in AA, 31 in A+, 31 in A, 27 in ACL for 152.

In before I adjusted and added Letson. Our impeccable timing dance continues 😅. Truly amazing.

So 151 haha. I am including Elvin Rodriguez as well who is technically not on Nashville's roster as he's still in the DFA process. So technically it's 150 at the moment.

Edit: Avans is also in the DFA process so technically 149. I've been slacking

Ugh. This one hurts, although I suspected it. Yikes. I assume he is effectively down for the year?

Hoping this young man can get healthy and back on the mound soon.

If he was for sure down for the year they would have put him on the full season IL. Moving him from the 7 Day to the 60 Day just makes it so he no longer counts toward the 165 player stateside limit.

Juan Ortuno too. He’s got sneaky power along with what seems really good swing decisions. Him and Handelfry in Carolina next year should be fun.

Anyone hear anything about what he’s got going on?

In what was most likely a move akin to Nittoli's above:

- LHP Bruce Zimmerman has been released by the Nashville sounds

Which puts us at 148 current stateside players. 17 open spots
