RHP Josh Knoth, recovering from early January TJ surgery, is back to throwing from 90 feet and is on track for essentially a normal offseason.  He is one of many young hurlers returning from injury to follow in the system next season (Galindez, Broughton, Cortez, Prado, Jaquez, etc).

  • The corresponding move on Nashville's end (as Payamps will spend time clearing Waivers et al for the next week - being the second time Payamps has DFA'd in 2025 I imagine he is going opt into FA to explore his next steps) is C Nick Kahle was reinstated from the Development List.

- RHP Carlos Rodriguez has been optioned to the ACL Brewers by the Milwaukee Brewers

So he won't be a long man during the NDLS.  Is this also meaning he cannot be on the NLCS roster, if the Crew gets there?

Good question

And also - why the option to ACL as opposed to Nashville? Is there a distinction or does that affect the roster in some way??

40-Man men called up for their post-season prep week. LHP Brandon Knarr could never get healthy the past two season and he is now released. What a sad turn for the once promising lefty.

It appears LHP Thomas Pannone has signed a new minor league deal after spending all of 2025 on the IL, so a good chance he’ll be in the system in 2026.

The Baseball America link is from today. The MLB Trade Rumors link is from March.

- RHP Ever Urena released by DSL Brewers Gold

Proof that a tiny late-season (and career) sample of hitless ball over six relief appearances (0.19 WHIP) doesn't guarantee a roster spot. Likely more to the story - that we'll never know.

From what I’ve heard, the organization wants nothing to do with you as soon as you test positive for something and, especially for someone that the team has a minimal investment in, probably not a good idea to risk taking a banned substance.  Urena missed the entire ‘25 season serving a 56-game suspension for a failed drug test- Stanzolol.

The Brewers most interesting international pitcher that has been signed in recent years was supposed to be RHP Yeuri Ramirez, a part of their 2025 international class.  For reasons unknown, Ramirez did not appear during the ‘25 campaign.  In a head-scratching turn of events, Ramirez has reportedly signed with the Detroit Tigers (awaiting confirmation).  I am not sure what the story is there, but will update if I learn anything more.

Confirmed today.  Hearing that it was an age-related issue, perhaps a falsified birth certificate.  He was slated to receive a $300k bonus from Milwaukee, he will get a $275k signing bonus from Detroit, instead.

- LHP Connor Thomas cleared waivers and was also sent outright to Nashville. Much like Fedde, he elected free agency..

- RHP Nick DeCarlo was released by the Carolina Mudcats (they aren't the Wilson Warbirds yet!)

Bummer for the player on a number of fronts.

Non-drafted out of a Division II school that has produced only one (brief) big leaguer, DeCarlo even went to the Nicaraguan Winter League in between his two indy ball campaigns. Makes all of four professional appearances with the Crew, the final three with Carolina, before going on the IL four days after his final appearance on July 5th, ending his season.

So tough being on the ultra fringe of the organizational roster.
