Our dog refuses to wear dog booties. When we put them on her she just stands there like she's paralyzed. But when I walk her she plows around in the snow & when her paws get cold she holds them up, whimpers, and looks at me like I'm supposed to fix it.

Hah that reminds me of my old dog, rest her soul.  When the snow was just the right (wrong?) consistency and temperature she'd get balls of ice between the pads of her paws which annoyed her.  But she was a smart little girl.  So on a walk in those conditions there would be frequent stops where she'd carefully use her front teeth to bite the ice balls out of her paws and spit them out.

I found out yesterday that a friend of mine from high school who was about 2 years my junior died of a heart attack.  I would see him once in a while in person and chat.  I don't spend a lot of time on Facebook.

I looked on Facebook and saw there was a friend request from him from a few months ago.  Wow...

My condolences.

Look at it this way----on occasion you would actually physically spend time with him. If you ask me, that's about 5,000 times more valuable than anything FB-based. And I suspect he deciphered that you didn't respond to the request because you don't check FB often.

Thanks, Jim.

Last time I had seen him, I had mentioned that.  Thank you for reminding me... and encouraging me.

Too many varieties taking up shelf space in grocery stores. Can I just get regular tortilla chips? Not bite size, not hint of lime, not lightly salted, not scoops, not shovels. The answer is apparently no because everyone else likes normal tortilla chips too and they are all gone.  Had same issue finding original Triscuits.

I love the scoop tortilla chips as you can get more dip in them and also it doesn’t spill all over the place.

Scoop > regular and I will fight you on this!

There is only one brand of tortilla chip:
