I haven't been to a commercial gym in a while. Is it overblown the number of e-girls there filming themselves working out in what's basically underwear, or is social media making it a bigger problem than it really is?

Depends on the city you are in and what gym.  If I go to the gym in Tempe or Scottsdale here it is just like the internet anywhere else not so much.

The Tempe gym is close to ASU and the few times I have gone there some of the women are wearing tight Yoga pants that is basically like coming in naked.  The gym banned these after about a week.  The Scottsdale gym I go to nearly all of the women and some men are filming constantly.  Very annoying.

The gym closer to where I live no filming and the women just wear sweats and other workout clothes.  The only time I see someone take their shirt off is when they are flexing in the mirrors.  Both men and women will do this.

I can see that. The LA Fitness I went to in Scottsdale was bro central back in the day. Thank god it was pre cell phones.

Rash or Roof?

I have a rash but my left torso and arm are on fire all over the place. I guess millennials under 50 are just on their own because we’re not eligible for the vaccine…

Gen X hates Millennials! 😛

Sorry to hear about the rash. I've heard it isn't fun.  My neighbor got it and was ADAMANT that I go get it (I'm Gen X over 50 for me).  Seems odd that they would limit the vaccine based on age though...

Yeah, the new vaccine is about 97% effective. I believe you only have to get two shots, and then you're good for life (well maybe too soon to say if you're good for life. The old vaccine was good for 8 years and they think this one will be good for much longer).

I got mine a couple months ago.  Thankfully no side effects, so it went smooth.  The Covid one, however, destroys me every time, so I've decided to quit getting those.

Got it in my late 40's.  Got the vaccine right away after turning 50.  Nothing since (phew).

This was a new one for me. Over the weekend I had a bad fever and then started having a painful spot above my collar bone with a little lump in it. Figured maybe it was a pissed off lymph node from being sick. Then skin around it turned red and warm. By Monday it was about the size of two cracked eggs in a pan, so off to the ER I went. They determined I had an infection and antibiotics are helping, although I can still feel the lump.

no cuts, scratches or scrapes, so how on earth an infection like that would start up, I have absolutely no idea. But something like that can take down a healthy person for good. You just never know what kind of little goody is waiting around the corner.

I just posted an ad for some seasonal positions we have open. We pay well so we have gotten a ton of applications. The quality of said applications are mostly pure dookie so far. (40 and climbing) I'm sure we'll find enough people but weeding through the garbage is annoying.

The AirBnB "Experiences" commercial.

Am I the only one who thinks that essentially cartoon characters (i.e. generative AI-created videos) do not inspire me to do anything?

If you're advertising "experiences", then you need to make that advertisement as real, life-like, and vivid as possible so that people can visualize themselves doing that experience.

I've found little about AI that inspires me.... other than to contemplate retirement from teaching 😂

I'm with you about AI in some areas. I'm planning a few trips and whenever I come across an AI voiced video on YouTube, I have to immediately stop and block that site.  It also doesn't help that I'm generally not only interested in the repeated top 10 lists.  I want the local options and hidden gems.  Don't send me to crowds.

There are multiple households in our neighborhood that let their pet cats roam around outside.  One cat in particular is very friendly, but it also gets to places it probably shouldn't.  This past week, it went in our garage while I was outside, it has been under our car that's in the driveway, and tonight it was in our fenced-in backyard and decided to walk around on the deck.  My dog loved this, of course.  I fear that something bad will happen to them, and I really hope they aren't impacting the bird population in the neighborhood.  My dog can't just roam the neighborhood freely, so cats shouldn't either.  I would talk to the owners, but I don't exactly know which houses the cats belong to.

Anyone here have their gallbladder out and what are the results of that? Over now but just had my third episode in about two years. Not vomiting so coulda been worse but obviously not great, either. Or maybe being more-regular in taking those stone-breaker supplements would do the trick.

I forgot how annoying setting up Windows is.  First I forgot to format the USB stick correctly then I forgot to download the drivers I needed.  This is a new PC that I didn’t transfer the SSD to so had to do the USB method.  Uggg if I could log into work with Linux I think I would do that instead.  Harder but less annoying.

I was talking to a software vendor a few weeks back. They have two cats. They were having their bathroom redone and left the home for a while while the workers were there. When they got home, only one cat greeted them at the door, which was strange. They went looking for the other one and heard some weird scratching from behind the wall in the newly redone bathroom. The workers had accidentally drywalled the cat into the wall. Their guess is the cat went into the bathroom to poke around while the workers were at lunch and then hid in the wall and didn't move when they returned to put up the walls.

Imagine if you were going to keep the SSD and had Bitlocker enabled.  Our company has a policy that nothing can be written to a removable drive unless it is encrypted (Bitlocker).  Sad.

Have fun (woot woot)!

I do a lot of ordering for my family business. Over the last few weeks, we've had three parts of shipments get lost, two broken and a couple never got sent. Then I had to fight the companies over it. (I asked for a proof of delivery and of course they didn't have it) All of these items were many thousands of dollars.

What the hell is going on with shipping and customer service?

I've had my gallbladder removed.  99% chance that they can just scope it, so just a small incision just below the sternum and a few other small incisions to pump in the gas and blow you up so they can move around in there.  However, pre-surgery my surgeon did say there was a small chance that once he gets in there, he may not be able to determine for sure which is the cystic duct and the hepatic duct, and if that would happen he would have to cut me wide open (from sternum all the way to the bottom of the rib cage) in order to see what he was doing.  I think he said he has done the surgery 300 times, and only had to make the big cut 3 times.  And no, there was no way he could tell before you are on the table.  For me, he didn't have any problem.  I had the surgery on Tuesday, was back to work on Monday.  If you have the big cut though, it sounds like you are in the hospital for about 5 days and have a long recovery ahead.  I will note that I think I had the surgery in 2009, so I'm assuming things are likely better now in avoiding getting cut wide open.

I've heard people complain non-stop after surgery, but for me it's been no problem.  You don't need the gallbladder so you don't have to take any medication following surgery.  I do two glasses of Metamucil per day, don't know if I really need to, but I tend to be low fiber anyway, so it helps to move things along.  Only thing that sucks about that is Metamucil is expensive IMO, and it's one of those things where the price just went crazy during virus-time.  Price of it has dipped down a bit, but it's still about 40% higher then it was pre-virus-time.

I had mine removed about 6 years ago and your in and out the same day. No big deal at all. I tried supplements and they didn't help much.

Glad the Brewers players hustle 99% of the time because Manny Machado mistakenly thinks he hits a home run yesterday and gets thrown out at second watching the ball while slowly jogging down the first base line with bat in hand and a 30 mil/year player.

Do Jeff Levering & Brian Anderson have it written into their contracts that whenever a Brewer strikes out on a breaking pitch, they're mandated to call it 'nasty' regardless of whether or not it actually was?

If they do, it must be the same clause that makes Craig Coshun call every good starting pitcher outing A GEM.
