Every time this comes up, I find most of the complaints so weird. The price of stuff goes up with time, but even so, if you really want to go to a Brewers game, it's not expensive relative to just about any other ticketed event at a professional level. It's cheaper than any other sport, Disney on Ice, a show at the Pabst.

If it is not a marquee game, I would never buy direct from the Brewers anyway if there is not some promotion (which they do a LOT of) . With minimal effort you can still attend some of these games for $10-15. Then there is the fact you can bring in food, but we get food price complaints (the food in the stadium is pretty damn bad anyway and continues to be a major ball-drop from the team IMO) and we still have complaints about paying for parking when you can very easily park for free and walk 15-20 minutes in, for a summer sport where the weather is usually nice, or take one of the bar shuttles for the price of one Miller Lite. I think the last time I went was last year around Father's Day where they had a 4-pack for $64 that included a soda and a hot dog, and it was a Saturday or Sunday. You're not getting that with any other pro team.

All that said, I stopped going. I dropped my SSH and I never go unless invited for some group thing going on there, but it was more circumstantial. Just too many kids activities, and the driving always sucks. I only really had them for the playoff priority and with the playoffs as watered down as they are, that's not worth it either.

Sure the prices go up. The problem, though, is most people's wages/salaries usually don't go up at the same pace. With how out of control cost of living/inflation are now, many people just don't have the extra $$ to go to games anymore. Especially if they have kid(s).

I agree that overall, the food has went downhill. Though, I still make sure to get a polish with kraut and stadium sauce, if I do attend a game.

2 rap/hip-hop concerts? Catering to mainly 1 age group of fans? Not smart imo.

What age group is that? Nelly and Shaquille O’Neal are both over 50 years old and haven’t been relevant musically in years if ever.

What do you really expect for a post-game concert that’s free for those who bought tickets to a game?

Incorrect.  One rap and one DJ which is mostly trance and house music and other club music.  This is very popular with college aged demographics.  Nelly is basically for Millennials and Gen X.

DJ Shaq is actually very popular not the most popular DJ but he does sell out on his tours.  It looks like he is doing a few stadium tours this year.  Plus the music he will be playing fits the college crowd.

The Brewers should only market themselves to people who were alive for 1982.

And keep ticket prices at 1982 levels.

I know it’s blue font, but I was  in my early 20s when “Hot In Herre” was big.

I’m just curious about the market research that shows this is going to make them extra revenue. Nelly is the kind of act you would expect to see at a Tribal Casino or the State Fair or something like that; so there probably would be some fans that would stick around but I’m not sure how many extra tickets they will sell for people to come out to see Nelly.

And is the cost to book Nelly less than it would be for other promos that they know bring fans out like t-shirts and bobble heads?

I get Shaq Diesel probably doesn’t have a huge booking fee; but other than the most ardent fans or people with not much else to do, I don’t see much of a draw at all for a DJ Set by Shaquille O’Neal.

It is on a college promotion night so the booking makes a ton of sense.  This type of music is extremely popular with college aged demographics.  Will it bring in a ton of extra tickets?  Probably not but the demographics makes sense for this booking.

They've been doing post game concerts for a while with mid tier at best groups, heck Nelly is probably one of the bigger names to do it.  Really nothing new or a big deal to discuss.  I've been at games where they have it and haven't bothered to stay.  I actually think one several years ago was a long extra inning game like 13+ innings so it probably wouldn't start until well after midnight and there was probably no one at it.

Concession credit of $15 on inflated tickets (Loge Bleachers $34 on a Thursday night) seems like a crazy promotion BEFORE Shaq heads to 2B to sing and dance in Milwaukee on a Thursday night at 10.

The Internet suggests Nelly can be booked for less than $100,000.

https://seattletalentbuying.com/artists/nelly/

If Terrace level tickets are $24 apiece on June 27 then the Brewers would only need to sell around 4,000 additional Terrace level tickets to turn a profit. Not counting parking or additional concessions purchased.

I bet this makes money for the Brewers. At least a little bit.

Bonus points if we put Nelly in Brewers apparel during a Cardinals series

2 different genres would've been nice. 🤷‍♂️

It's a play to get people who otherwise wouldn't go to a game. Then hope they have fun and come back.

I am also willing to bet the Brewers have seen diminishing returns on giveaway promos as the suppliers have gotten more expensive and there are still empty seats on those days. They used to be automatic sellouts or very close.

There are two different genres.

Side note, I've been at places in LV where Shaq has been performing. Generally speaking, he does a good job with what he's doing (its not my thing, I just happen to be there). But I had friends that did a fair amount of interacting with him there and when he was in MKE for the playoffs over the years. It does seem all the stories of him actually being a legit nice/good guy are true.   If I recall correctly, one of his kids is trying to be a real deal DJ so Shaq is kind of doing it with him to help him and use his name. Plus I'm sure he has fun with it.

Looks like ticket and parking prices went up a bit here, a bit there. Typical and expected.

The bigger thing that affects my ticket buying is that Loge Diamond Box has been excluded from discounts on Wisconsin Fridays and Kids/Srs days. This is in addition to the newly named Platinum seats getting excluded last year. A good Monday deal continues of $6 Terrace seats and $12 Loge Bleachers. I expect the nice Kwik Trip ticket deal to start up again in March.

Parking up a little too…..advanced parking up a buck to $19 (Day of game $27) for M-F, $21/$42 for weekends.  General is $14 Advanced(Day of game $17) for M-F, and $16/$22 for weekends.

yup season tickets cost went up. So much for keeping butts in seats as the mission.    Raising prices every single season needs to stop . .    Reversing things and starting to let the prices go back down would be the natural response to the high prices of Baseball in 2025 .      If a team made public the idea of discounting the prices to a very low level and made it the team model it would bring massive support and bring in more $ than yearly increases without question.

Baseball should be affordable .  I used to go to every home game and it was not my biggest bill each year which is not the case anymore.     Buying season tickets for the family is a massive amount of income set aside now and it makes it much harder to be an everyday attendy for Brewers games for anyone who is not insane like we are.

I would love to see a team publicly make prices decline and make it the team moto to keep baseball cheap to attend .     $12 beers must go!   This is Miller Park at its heart.    A Team named the BREWERS should have the Cheapest beer .. Just saying!    2 Dollar beer would cut into our owners profits but it would set a standard that has been forgotten in baseball .

Make Baseball Affordable again and you will bring more people to games.

I go to my share and I don't think prices since covid are bad at all, Can usually get lower level tickets for way less than $100, and I usually go on weekends.  I've sat in the first 5 rows several times for like $50.

In a stadium that already has overdrinking issues and allows everyone to drink for 'free' in the parking lot, there is no way they can go to cheap alcohol.  Besides money, trying to deter overdrinking is a big factor. Especially when you already have the cops looking the other way on 15-20K DUIs leaving the parking lot every night.

Biggest thing Miller Park needs to do is get good food. For a state famous for its foods they really do suck at it atMP.

I know it wasn't the point of the post, but that is a massive exaggeration. Yes there are drunk people at the games, but it really isn't the majority of fans, they're just loud, and I would hope that the majority of those aren't driving. I have no doubt that a few hundred .08ers are driving home, but I don't think (hope) it's that many.

TBF, I don't know how many cars the lot holds, it might be way less than that number.   But .08 is very easy to get to.  On a Fri/Sat I would guess its definitely the majority of cars though, likely well above 50%.  But obviously I have no idea, its pure guess

Huh?  Any genre, who cares……

How are we doing a college concert on a weeknight in September….chilly, dank Milwaukee….wind blowing off lake….Thursday night at 10?  What herds are coming to that?  Put it on a Friday at least….a summer night, fellas.  We want people to come to this, correct?
