TBF, I don't know how many cars the lot holds, it might be way less than that number.   But .08 is very easy to get to.  On a Fri/Sat I would guess its definitely the majority of cars though, likely well above 50%.  But obviously I have no idea, its pure guess

Am Fam lots are 12k vehicles at capacity.

If we are to believe surveys, roughly 40% of attendees consume alcohol when attending an MLB game so give or take on that. I would like to believe that when it comes to drivers, substantially fewer are consuming enough to leave the game legally drunk (plus there are rideshares, bar shuttles).

My total guess would be under 1,000 vehicles. I think far fewer are getting inebriated than a casual observer would think just because, for one, people don't actually drink as much as we think (the US has one of the highest alcohol-abstinent populations in the world), and two, the drunks just stand out.

Fair.  Yea I just started with 40K seats and the slashed it to a bit less than half, never checked the real number of cars as I was just winging it because, like you said, the total number wasn't the point.    But yea, I'd guess on a near sellout game on a weekend that more than 1/12 leave above .08.  I generally agree with your points on your low guess, I just think getting to .08 is easier than the avg person thinks and why I'd guess higher.  And of course WI drinking culture would move up national polls like you mentioned, we are way different here with it.

But who knows, we're all just throwing stuff out there guessing, the main idea was just that they can't be a party to pumping out even more really drunk people than they already are, considering the police are already giving them a huge break letting it operate the way it is.   If one thinks about its kinda crazy, I mean you have a ton of cops just standing there doing nothing as lots and lots of people drive right by them after drinking for hours, and they know it and just let look the other way. Part of WI drinking culture.   I recall last year I went with some friends from the UK, they couldn't believe how the driving was just no big deal. And UK people are the rare bunch that drink as much as WI people.

Huh?  Any genre, who cares……

How are we doing a college concert on a weeknight in September….chilly, dank Milwaukee….wind blowing off lake….Thursday night at 10?  What herds are coming to that?  Put it on a Friday at least….a summer night, fellas.  We want people to come to this, correct?

Would probably be wise to do a college night when, you know, students are at college? There are two large Universities in Milwaukee.

Also, Thursday is a popular going out night. This entire event makes perfect sense.

Wait, so the college crowd is into Nelly, who probably peaked 20 years ago before most were even born?

Dude is 50+ years old playing hip-hop to college crowds?

As far as Shaq as a DJ goes, I actually laughed at loud at the thought.  Talk about a guy getting by on his name.

I just don't see either being big draws, especially to college crowds.

People in their 40's, maybe...  The people who were listening to Nelly when he had his 15 minutes are now probably in their late 30's to late 40's.  Those are the people I'd expect to have interst seeing him for nostalgia purposes.

I have no clue who would be interested in watching a retired NBA superstar dropping beats and scratching nonsense.  Talk about a novelty...

I admit, I am completely out of touch with this type of music scene, so it is what it is I guess.

The college crowd would be DJ Shaq, as the concert follows one of the college night promotions, Thursday is a going out night, and they will probably see it as a funny gimmicky thing that costs nothing extra to do. It makes sense.

Nelly attracts a different group of people but for the same reason. I was dragged to Nelly at Summerfest free stage a few years ago because my wife wanted to see him. Is she a huge Nelly fan? No, but she thinks it's a fun show and it's what she listened to in high school. That is exactly what they're after. Non-baseball fans or irregular attendees having a reason to go.

Both of these acts likely cost way less than a giveaway.

Is Nelly already coming to MKE for Summerfest?

I don't really have a side in this discussion, but as an aside, I will chuckle to myself if it's somehow really chilly on Nelly night and he's trying to pump up the crowd with HOT IN HERRE.  😉

Nelly is during the summer, Shaq is more for college kids which is why the scheduling makes sense.

I've got good news, no one is forcing you to go to the game or stay for these concerts if you don't want to. These kinda things make extra money for the team and bring in a person that might not go to a game. Sounds like a good idea.

I have an older teenager not quite college age yet but younger people do seem to like Shaq. He isn't gorundbreaking or anything but people tend to have fun with it, just want to have a good time.

Thursday night in September……odd all the way around with this promotion of Shaq.
And thanks for the good news…….might stay home now.

And those Thursday night games in September sure are popular nights to get out for Brewers games and concert….cant remember any ever. Not traditional or a proven $ maker…Sounds like an experiment if there ever was one.

Perfect sense?  Wouldn’t Friday make more sense?

Friday night game will already draw a sizable crowd. Makes more sense to do the marketing event like this on Thursday, imo.

Younger people tend to like the music that Shaq will be playing.  He is one of the popular DJ’s out there.  He isn’t the top DJ but probably in the top 40.  Not a genre I follow but my younger coworkers like him when they saw him in Miami and Las Vegas last year.
