Seigler walks, steals second, then steals third and scores on a throwing error, now 3–1 Nashville.

Looks like a rain delay now.

Manfredi in for the Shuckers, pitching with the lead. Let's hope for some solid relief here.

OK, starts with a K swinging on the first batter. Good start.

Ugh then a 4 pitch walk, c'mon Manfredi let's getting it going here. The 3rd walk for Stephen Paolini of Columbus.

A mound visit let's see if this gets him going. C'mon SHuckers

Manfredi throws 1 strike out of 11 pitches, the 4 straight pitch walk, then another walk and a 2-0 count before getting a 2-2 pitch to be a grounder to the pitcher. 2 outs, runners on 2nd/3rd and now a pitching change. Manfredi just didn't have it.

Need to keep zeros here. Looks like Yeager here for a 4-out save opportunity.

This team has life and a pulse.

Oh heck yeah!

3-1 count and a very close pitch called strike that was low, maybe edge of zone, either way the ump calls it a strike to Yeager's advantage/favor. Next pitch foul, and the next a fastball in on the hands and a swinging strike. On to the 9th. Still a 3 run lead (8-5). An insurance run or two would be nice, but that's me being greedy. 😉

So last year 8 runs was a week's worth of offensive output for the Shuckers, I think I just heard this was the 6th or 7th time they have done it this year in just about a month of baseball. Wow, would not have expected that.

And Wilken with a double to deep left, and Warren singles now, runners at the corners, and only 1 out. And Ramon Rodriguez the hottest hitter up.

Still rain delay in Gwinnett, but game still on in Columbus.

Ramon Rodriguez strikes out looking on a breaking ball that he seemed completely fooled by. Oh well. Still only 2 outs, and a chance to expand the lead here.

With the 2B and HR tonight Wilken’s season tally is up to seven singles, six doubles, and four home runs.

With two more bases on ball tonight he’s up to 32 BB / 30 K on the season.

And the rain in Gwinett is now heading to Columbus

No additional runs after Spain lines out.

Yeager on to try to get a game over before the rain causes it to be delayed.

STrikes out the first batter, but then a base hit off the fists.

Man a GIDP would be so nice here, but a K will work. Heck yeah! (and no GIDP since the runner got to 2nd on indifference)

One more out to go. C'mon boys

How do we feel about Brock Wilken's start to the year. The batting average stinks but the obp and walks are very encouraging. Is it that he just isn't getting pitched to or is he being to patient early in the count. I think being his second time around AA I am more worried by the batting average than I am encouraged by the walks. Obviously playing well tonight.

And after a full count - close pitch on the 3rd ball call. But next pitch and a fly out

SHUCKERS WIN again! 14-12, 2 games over .500. Wow just wow. Great comebacks tonight for Mudcats and Shuckers, and tough luck loss for TRats.

Great pitching, timely hitting.

Boy those would be some nice things to bring the big leagues right now 🙄

He has been very patient all year. Maybe too patient. Could be working on something, or just re-adjustment? Clearly knows the strike zone and gets the walks. Not punishing mistakes enough (or rarely except for the last day or two or three maybe)

He was looking lost at the plate other than the walks most of the season except for a game or two, but now a few days where he has shown some signs of life. I have been pretty hard on him, and I'm not ready to say he's turning it around, but looked better the past few days than he has most of the season.

I guess they called the game in Gwinnet, and it's  a Nashville win.

That's a great day for the minor league affiliates. 4-1, and the lone loss a 1-0 pitching duel

They go 2-1 in one-run games today. And Hardin, Holobetz, Misiorowski have solid outings (Holobetz one bad inning with a 2 run HR).  Signs of life.

Nine for his last thirty, and still drawing walks, right? Baby steps. It's just nice to have SOMETHING positive to hang your hat on after all this time.

Yeah, I think Hardin is a man pitching to boys at A+. Probably should get bumped up to face better hitting.

I speculated about that the other day, along with Dinges eventually to A+ (provided the glove work suffices). Starting pitching really seems to be fleshing out well, from A+ thru AAA.

Once Boeve works is way back to playing shape.  Is he ticketed for AA or AAA?

With Wilken/Adams in Biloxi, and Boeve putting up a 141 wRC+ over 289 PAs with the Shuckers last year, I'd guess that he will be Nashville bound.

We can only hope. That bat is absolutely going to play in the International League. We really just need him to stay healthy for a season - that has been a struggle since turning pro, unfortunately.
