That Wilken error was almost an exact replica of Di Turi's error early in the Mudcats game. Both were right in there gloves they just botched the gather. Wilken had a very slow runner going down the 1B line too. That one hurts. Lookouts followed with a shallow bloop single to get two on and nobody out.

I give you a beautiful rendition of how One who has watched nearly every one of INF Juan Baez's innings as a Brewer just might imagine a Baez inside-the-parker Little League HR ended up. A beautiful image. Put it in the Louvre!Screen Shot 2025-06-10 at 5.34.53 PM.png

Sounds are making things interesting in Norfolk. Quero just send another run across with a two-out single into RF. It's now a 7-5 deficit with Rosario coming to the dish. Men on the corners.

Not sure I've seen that before, but Petersen (who is in for Wich in the 5th against Chattanooga) has given up double, single, single and sac bunt on 4 pitches. Each batter swung (double, single) or bunted (single, sac) on the first pitch.  Pretty unusual.

Quero with a stupid out on the basepaths to end the Sounds threat in the sixth. Runners on the corners. Two down. Red hot Eddie Rosario at the dish with a 2-2 count. Quero leaves for 2B on a pitch in the dirt blocked in front of the catcher. He's tagged out in a bang-bang play. Can not leave there. Just a bad base running decision.

Ugh. A 5-0 lead has evaporated and is now turning ugly as a WP makes it 8-5 Chattanooga. Wow what a promising first couple of innings that just turned south for Biloxi.

T-Rats still in command for now.

Carolina can't get the offense going and down 5-1 in the top of the ninth. Will need an early season, relentless Mudcats rally here.

Adams has taken two pitches high up and in tonight. He is finally plunked in the top of the fourth with two down. Right smack dab in the center of the back. Ouch! That man is a baseball magnet. Remains absurdly confounding.

Yup. The walks remain his kryptonite. He has incredible stuff. He lacks refinement. BUT, there are a lot of tools in his bag. Just has to figure out how to control his release point. Extremely violent delivery.

Mudcats can't rally back. After a single by Rodriguez, it  is grounder, K, and fly out.

Made and Payne both with 3K tonight. Not great

Also, I envision Tanner Shears and Yerlin Rodriguez on Face Time:

Mudcats are very much playing like a young Low-A team the last couple weeks. They've had a lot of injuries. Promotions and injuries to key players. Decimated pitching staff. They are now tied atop their division. Wild.

Zimmerman really 'recovered' quite nicely, honestly. He trailed 7-0 early. He completed six frames. Sounds bit back into the lead. They trail 7-5. We'll take it? 🫠 Well, we don't have a choice!

Yes. Losing Alstre and then Dinges to promotions.  Adamczewski injured. Missed time by Peña and Made.  And big slumps by Bitonti and Payne along with a regression by DiTuri and that offense is so much less potent and dominant.

Well, honestly, what I noticed before tonight's game even began? Lameda wasn't in the line up. Go ahead and look at his June production. Red hot. You are leading by 1.0 G. Gotta get him in the line-up. Not a fan. But, then again, I'm used to the Brewers and Nick Stanley doing this in Low-A. If you recall last season, I went through this exact same thing with Stanley with Miguel Briceno in the playoffs. Hurt me! Hurt me, I say!

LHP Jesus Broca with some really nice work of late out of the Timber Rattlers Pen. Dare I say, he has become a stabilizing force in those uncertain middle innings of late?
