Thinking of going sometime this year. Wondering what something better than the watery domestics (Miller Lite) would set me back. I'm fine with those, but would probably opt for something a little beefier, like the Barrelman Ale.

For comparison, I recently treated my son and wife (Twins fans) to a game in Mpls. A large Summit EPA was $16 for crying out loud. They have some outrageous taxes specific to the downtown area that are part of that cost.

The craft beer bar on the loge level will run you something like $14 - $16 per beer. It's near section 207. I'm not sure what a beer costs at Barrel Yard.

Also, we have a guide to Am Fam that you might find useful:

I cannot recommend the Wisconsin beer stand enough. Second level, near the RF foul pole. It's expensive, but maybe slightly cheaper than Target Field? Dunno, can't recall. They have 30-ish options, most of them great. Perhaps the best beer stand I've seen at a ballpark.

Yeah that's the craft beer bar I referenced above. I usually get tix in sec 207 so I have easy access :) Also, I prefer the food options on the Loge Level (Chucho's Red Tacos!)

Ah, yes. For some reason, 207 didn't sound right to me but I'm terrible with section numbers.

As the OP seems to be near the Twin Cities, and the topic (kinda) is great beer stands, The left-field corner at the St. Paul Saints modern minor league park is great. It's also just a great park, overall. The Twin Cities, and Duluth combine to offer a lot of excellent regional beers, so the Saints' beer garden is awesome.

I live nearby, so perhaps I'm partial, but I would choose a Saints game over a Twins game 80% of the time.

Oh, good point, the LF mega-stand at CHS is outstanding, too.

We relocated back to my cheeseland roots a few years back, but my in laws still live in the TC metro. My son was born there, so that's his team. Wife has divided loyalties, and I keep tabs on both by default. Went to a Saints game or two at the old stadium. Never made it to the new one. Pretty cool for MN fans to have the AAA team right there. Wish the Sounds or Shuckers could find a home in WI.

CHS Field is much better than the old Midway Stadium next to the Fairgrounds but I agree with you 100% it is a great park. However, since the Saints changed from an independent league team to the Twins AAA affiliate, it seems less enjoyable. Remember Veeck’s and Bill Murray’s motto, “Fun is Good.”

Not my first game by far.  But been awhile since coming from west.  If I have preferred parking, I should stay in the left lane on 94 and exit at General Mitchell, correct?

Yes. Preferred Parking is the best. I head back to Madison after the game and it is so simple to get on westbound 94. Just make sure you are not in the right lane when exiting or you will get dumped onto Eastbound 94. Stay in either of the two left lanes.
