If the Brewers win both games in doubleheader day, that day will be a real challenge for this thread

Every win in that series is worth 2 on the magic number countdown on the baby bears. Here's to skipping multiple numbers...

As a San Jose Sharks fan I very much dislike this

As a diehard, lifelong, Knights fan for the last three years let me tell you, there's no better, more true hockey town than Las Vegas!

Top 2 seed: 36 CHC, PHL

Top wild card spot: 35 SDP

Any wild card spot: 29 CIN

Next team to be eliminated (currently Washington): 15

Pirates making a bid to - I was going to say “overtake” the Nats. Is it “undertake “? Anyway, getting swept by the Brewers has put them at only 1 magic number behind WAS.

I'll post whatever I want and I don't care in the slightest bit what your opinion is on the matter.

The racing photos serve a purpose when the magic number is close to changing.  🤷‍♀️

Remember: the Brewers never panic like you do.

#36 can be no one other than The Mechanic:

That... is a great Fossas face!

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

The race for the 2-5 seeds is separated by a single game right now - makes the secondary magic numbers bunch up a bit.

#35 is reserved for Narcisco Elvira. The ultimate flash in the pan, despite his standing as a Top 50 MlB prospect, Elvira only pitched 5 innings in his MLB career, all in 1990 as a 22 year old Milwaukee Brewer. He pitched professionally for 22 years, bouncing between the Mexican League, Japan and Korea.

Elvira's fame in Mexico made him a target for gangs. He survived a kidnapping in 2015 where he was held for ransom for 23 days. He was ultimately shot and killed (along with his 20-year-old son) in 2020 in what was likely a gang-related incident.

Looking at his minor league stats, it's no wonder why he flamed out.  In 1987 as a 19-year-old he pitched four games and 27 innings.  Then in 1988 he pitched 135 heavy, heavy innings with 79 BB and 160 K.  I can't imagine what his total pitch count was for that year.  He was able to sustain that for one more year, then in 1990 he got injured and then he was cooked.  No way could his small stature and frame hold up to that workload.
