Might take 10 to win this one as well.

With the Phillies lineup why is Aaron Nola 3-7 with a 6.47 ERA?

Maybe because the Phillies average 4.8 runs/game?

Of course... the Brewers are at 5.1 runs/game...

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

I just noticed this from CheezWizHed:

"Rock [maybe Murph?], sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, [Murph] but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

 Hear! Hear!

Maybe Yeli will break out the Uecker bat?

He was being interviewed at Ueck's service and said all three were stored away now.  If I remember right, his mom grabbed the one he used.  One went to the Brewers and the other to the MLB?

He didn't want to break it... which I can appreciate. But he could make more...

I stuck with "Rock" to keep close to the original quote and since that is Bill Schroeder's nickname, it worked.

Went to the Uecker game and on the Terrace Level they had a display and two of those Uecker bats were there.

I think they were only allowed to use bats like that for the players weekend.

No help from the Braves tonight.

4-3 Cubs in the 5th...  A little early to know the outcome of this game eh.

I did my best to help the Brewers out by starting Imanaga on a fantasy team.  If I start him , he gets shelled, if I bench him, he pitches a gem.  So I did my part.

I watched the last few innings of the Cubs’ game.

I am definitely concerned. Other than the Giants’ series, they are feasting on the soft part of their schedule, as we feared. Worse, it just seems like their bullpen is getting stronger and hitting their stride at just the right time, whereas ours is gasping for air.

I’m not saying we are going to blow it, but I don’t think we are going to shake them until the final week, and failing to capture the tiebreaker could end up making things pretty uncomfortable.

I don't think we will be able to afford another 9-10 stretch.

I first checked the Cubs score around 7:30 and saw that they were ahead 4-0: in the third inning so I decided to write it off instead of aggravating myself following it.

When I looked now I see that all I missed was having some brief  false hope

The Cubs added some bullpen depth at the deadline and they are getting 6 and sometimes 7 innings from their SP most nights. Their staff is in a lot better shape than the Brewers.

I wonder if this team will even break the franchise record for wins now

Good lord ... every team goes through tough stretches in a 162-game season. Lets not start acting like the 2025 Brewers are suddenly bad.

He never said they were bad.  Just questioned whether they could get to 96.  Something like 10-13 falls short.  Is that really all that unreasonable right now?

The way this team has played this season, finishing 10-13 would be a pretty monumental disappointment. Considering how they have pretty consistently been able to avoid prolonged skids, I would say it's at least arguably unreasonable.

With the schedule we have left, I'd be surprised if we finished the final stretch below 500. I really don't give a damn if we don't get the record anyway.

Depends on your definition of suddenly
