Also watching the Marlins try to blow a lead in the ninth against the Phillies.

Marlins hold on. Bigger news for the Phils is almost definitely Turner's exit.

I'll say this. A lot of the top teams in the NL are dealing with significant injuries. One of the very crappy things about the daily grind of baseball.

I really don't like the new kickoff rules. Maybe it will grow on me if I live to be 90.

I can't remember why he was having troubles? Walks? Hit too often?

Walks. Wasn't trusting his stuff. Was more aggressive today.

Yoho looked very good today folks. Jack wrote an article about him shifting where he stands on the rubber to help his command and boy it looked good today. Looks like a potential postseason option to me if he keeps it up.

I was as surprised as anyone to see Misiorowski come out for the 7th. But a large part of what goes into that is the stress level as well as the pitch count, and his stress level was pretty much nonexistent after the walks to open the 1st. If he can start out ABs with curveballs for strikes like he did today, good luck. Very enjoyable to watch.

A hidden nugget today-----Caleb Durbin rarely strikes out, and Ks three times while going 0-5 while playing his 4th game in a row. Is that a coincidence, or did his mental sharpness at the plate dwindle just a touch today in a four-game grind while going through his first major league season? Do the daily lineups actually get made out for good reasons that we aren't always privy too?

Not a great day at the plate for Perkins, but a step forward. Good to see. And a terrific approach all day for Vaughn.

Loved the way Yoho looked. But in fairness, holy cow Cruz looked like mentally he was already taking a shower.

Impressive weekend.

5.5 to 7.5 in two days makes one feel good. I know a lot of us won't really rest until it's over, but you have to feel incredibly happy with where this team sits with 18 games to go.

Yeah.     It’s over now

He also changed his foot location on the rubber & scrapped one breaking pitch for another. There's a real nice piece on that somewhere on this site.

Caught two foul balls behind the dugout (actually one was caught by a guy in front of us and gave the ball to my son) going to see if we were on TV, pnc park is the best stadium, great to get a lead like that so we could walk around.
