And people want him in AAA or the bullpen.

Today’s start against the worst offense in MLB is very much the exception to his last several starts - but no doubt, Miz looked excellent today after the 2nd inning

For those who follow such things, how close are we to the club's preferred innings limit for Miz for the season? Might be overanalyzing the situation, but hat allowance of letting him get to nearly 110 pitches seems to me like maybe that's it for the season.

But, maybe it's just letting him roll - I don't know.

Great outing.  Wonder if they did it expecting this to be his last start.

Really doubt it.  As much as some here want him to be sent to the pen, the Brewers have made no indications that they view him as anything but a starter long term.  With off days coming up, there’s a path to getting him 6+ days of rest before his next start.

All this angst about the pitching like the Brewers are just making it up as they go with no long term plan.

sure seems like a strange decision to ride him so hard today.

I agree that Murph is one of the best in-game managers in MLB.

he rides his relievers too hard, *cough* Ashby *cough*, and rides his position players too hard. *cough* yelich, (that's why his back is giving him problems now), Contreras, vaughn, etc.

I know Payamps has had a down year. It would be huge if he somehow got in sync during September to provide a veteran RH bullpen arm in October since we lost so many pitchers to the IL recently

I don't know what the Brewers general plan of action is, but the general rule with pitchers is a 25% increase year over year. I've also read 25-30 more innings each year... But 25% is what I've seen the most.

If we are using that formula and Miz threw 97+ innings last year... He would be topping out at < 125 innings this year... Which is just about exactly where he is after today's start.

You know better but I appreciate the jab

It appears he missed with Payamps coming in today

Well … so much for that idea … Payamps is proving today why he was DFA’d earlier this season & went unclaimed by the other 29 MLB teams

I know the nationals stink but I thought they could score a little bit

I'm sorta surprised that lineup scored at all.
