Go Dodgers !!

Those games are meaningless.    Cubs need to lose some games.   They’ve been beating good pitchers lately.

They’re not meaningless, there’s the potential to go 2.5 up on Philly today, plus the tiebreaker, with just 11 to play.

While its not essential to get the 1 it does matter.

As far as the Cubs go they are hot, 6 out of 7. But as long as we win, even if we don’t gain a game on them, it’s more time that they’re running out of.

I know I’m going to regret saying this in the next 15 minutes or so, but I feel like this homeplate umpire has done a really good job for the most part tonight.

It’s just such a rarity that I feel I should point it out when it happens.

Agree. I think he missed one, maybe two. But solid.

I kinda like the guy the got for Cortes. He seemed not afraid and had speed. Bring him back for Perkins

I like Lockridge too.

I think, though, Perkins needs to be here. Without him, we are EXTREMELY right-handed, especially off the bench. Plus, the defense. Just gotta keep hoping he figures it out.

One of Freddy's very, very good outings. 6 strong, made one mistake. Nibbled a little, but put together some efficient innings in the middle portion. The Angels offense isn't great, but they look like world-beaters compared to what the Pirates are running out there right now.

Cubs pitching has been top-notch since the All-Star break.

Pirates go 3 hits yesterday, and 4 today - 7 total.

Hard to beat pitching like that even with their offense slumping.

They've absolutely been nails. Credit to that staff for sure.

The one thing that helps from a Brewers perspective is their bullpen has really been ridden hard over the last week. Keller even pitched in the game they lost to the Rays (got the BS, I believe).

You'd have to think that'll catch up to them at some point. It's the soft part of their roster. We'll see over the next 5, I guess.

We'll also see how hard the Cubs push for the division. They may well clinch tonight. They're certainly not going to give in, but they might rotate some guys in and out.
