Is this thread being used for the playoff game thread for non Brewers games?  If so, maybe the title of this thread should be changed to "Wild Card Round Game In Game Thread?"

I remember being almost excited for the Brewers to acquire Steven Kwan. 
 

Kwan has hit .254 / .310 / .345 since the all star break. .655 OPS in the second half

I'm fine with either the Tigers or Indains, er, Guardians winning this series, but I wouldn't want to face Skubal twice in the World Series...

I hate the Red Sox, don't want to play the Yankees, so that's a toss-up for me.  Plus, facing Crochett twice isn't a good thing either.

Reds beating the Dodgers is probably a fairytale, but how awesome would it be for the Reds who just snuck into the playoffs, to knock out the evil empire Dodgers?

Hate the Cubs with a passion, but I'm intrigued by a Brewers/Cubs series only because I'd like to be the team to take them out.  However, being knocked out by Counsell and the Cubs would be an absolutely unbearable ending to this season.  Yet still, I want to play them because the risk reward is worth it to me personally.  The thought of their fans invading AmFam is also going to be sickening if it happens...

I want to beat the Cubs. I really don't want to lose to the Cubs. I very much don't want Cubs fans in Milwaukee... all of that together makes me pull fairly hard for SD... although at this point in the season it is a pick your poison scenario.

Recent Brewers teams have been really good at coming up with painful postseason eliminations. I can't imagine a scenario involving the Padres that would be more painful than Counsell getting the last laugh this season.

Very true...  The thought of Manny "the PUNK" Machado hitting a walk-off in the final game would suck too, but yeah, not as bad as Counsell getting the last laugh, as you mentioned.

Padres go quietly in the first. Boyd throws 12 pitches. It will be key to avoid Michael Busch setting the table or hitting lead off HR. He seems to do that a lot these days.

Torkelson is a horrible 1B defensively.  That was a bad throw by Baez but that was a catchable ball for an average 1B and Torkelson completely whiffed on catching that ball.

Whoever came to the plate with no outs and a runner on third was TERRIBLE, swinging at 3 garbage pitches.  They'd have been better off bunting. Completely blew the gig.

That's a game that the Guardians would have won in the regular season, but those were not pretty ABs with just needing to get the runner on third in. 

Ironic that Detroit beat them with a sac bunt.

Kudos to Boyd. Walk to Machado then sacrifice bunt, infield single leads to runners at the corners with one out and he gets out of it.

That has been his scouting report his whole career.  He will swing at pitches up and out of the strike zone and will swing at pitches low and in like nearly every left handed batter.  I believe PCA had a lot of success earlier in the season hitting the up and out of the zone pitches along with pitches that were up and in the strike zone.  There is not much of a difference between 1st half PCA and 2nd half PCA.  Just that in the 1st half of the season he was hitting the up and out of the strike zone pitches.
