RHP Chang Tzu-Chun Lin is well ahead of schedule in his rehab from TJ.  He made some throws today for the first time since his surgery.  Originally, the right-hander was expected to start throwing in November.  It seems as though he should be ready to go for the start of the 2027 campaign as opposed to sometime in the first half as initially expected.

Any updates on Meccage?

He’s been throwing in the Bridge League with the goal to return to the Timber Rattlers before the end of the season.

Thanks!

Well, if that's the case, he has only 6 more days to make that happen...Actually, 12 more games, I forgot they are on the road the last series...

Nashville Sounds transferred RHP Will Childers from the 7-day injured list to the 60-day injured list.

Is the nature of this injury known?

I have not heard what the injury is specifically, but I have been told that it is not serious.  Childers could be a candidate for the AFL.

I just watched a video of Brailyn Antunez getting a basehit.  Looks like he cant run.  Or does he normally have a really weird stride?? Is he playing through an injury?

RHP Diego Trillo was unable to make his pro debut this season as he dealt with distension in his right elbow tendon (often called tennis elbow).  The right-hander is nearly 100% and slated for a healthy offseason.

Tennis elbow is no joke.  I'm just getting over it, and finally gave in and went to PT back in December.  He said it would be 8-12 months before being pain free and that is tracking...

I now feel bad for anyone going through it.

I hope Bryce Meccage is fully recovered now. It looks like the Brewers have a pitching slot open for the Arizona Fall League (season starts October 3).

Meccage was shut down for a couple months and went through an extensive rehab process to the point where he was a possible candidate for an end of season return to an affiliate.  Unfortunately, rest and rehab was not enough and the right-hander underwent Tommy John surgery after a recent setback.  Very tough blow for Meccage who seemed to have avoided anything too serious for a while, but will now miss the vast majority, if not all, of 2027 as well.

Thank you for the helpful, though very sad update. Shoot!!!

Holy heck. Unbelievably sad news. Let's just hope he comes back as fresh and on point as Knoth. When healthy, 2026 was already a disappointing season for Meccage (granted 5 outings is just not enough to base anything on). Here's hoping he comes back stronger with a renewed approach.

I’ll bend the rules of this thread just this once, and maybe it’s not surprising given he has a good amount of hype, but, after Jesús Made, Cooper Pratt is THE guy in the organization.  From everything I have heard, he is viewed as highly as anyone else in the system.  Perhaps a more “surprising” take was that just last week I heard Matt Kleine talk about Dylan O’Rae being the most underrated prospect currently in the system

A bump from the first page of this thread, as this post was stuck in my head all year long.

For good luck, wanna bend the rules again now that Pratt is a World Series hero?

I might just have to make a similar post for good luck once the 2027 thread opens up!  It’s just a testament to the organization’s player development and trusting in what they believe, and now know, will work.

Well, let's have some post-WS fun. Here are my candidates for most Underrated across all stateside affiliates:

ACL Brewers: Chance Ruby - I personally think he was a total steal from this year's draft

Wilson: RHP Carlos Carra - Still a huge believer in his tools. He's still only 19 yo. I saw plenty of the same flashes that originally got me jazzed up.

Wisconsin: Tayden Hall - I feel like this past season was a first glimpse on touching the upside I've seen in him since early early days. Incredible athlete. Beautiful swing. Feels like he is starting to figure it out.

Biloxi: Mike Boeve - several candidates here, honestly, but I feel like Boeve still consistently is an afterthought. He had a very very nice season. Nobody - and I mean nobody - talks about him anymore. This was his first healthy season in? IF he can stay healthy and move further and further away from the shoulder surgery he is going to offer some org (hopefully the Brewers) a vet approach and dependability. Yes, even with the defensive limitations.

Nashville: RHP Blake Holub - I almost went with my guy C Ramon Rodriguez (just such a great baseball player) but I can not deny Holub given the improvements we saw in 2026. He has all the high-leverage tools we could ask for and he finally started chipping away at his walks problem. His second attempt at Triple-A for the Brewers was a really good one. I have to think he and Wagoner will make things interesting in Big League ST.
