Man the ball is carrying ridiculously. Routine flies to the warning track and wall. Nice to see Adamczewski make a leaping snare at that same wall on what appeared to be a routine fly short of the warning track at first contact. Also, man, the A's have something filthy in RHP  Kade Morris.

Fischer is gonna move up some prospect lists this season.

I was able to watch most of this one

  • Hardin looked really good for the most part. Lots of pitches. Nice velo. Lots of shapes. Athletic and competitive.
  • Made was sitting dead red fastball on the 1st pitch from Arnold and gapped it. Was great to see the Brewers rough up another 2025 1st round college pitcher. Made still gives away too many at-bats. It's not a concerning flaw going forward, just a mix of his overflowing confidence and his relative inexperience.
  • If you had to decide on the Made or Pratt for SS of the future, I'm not sure how you cannot rush to choose Pratt at this time. Made is too sloppy. Pratt is excellent. I have no concerns with Pratt's range. Made will make a fantastic offensively minded 2B.
  • Wichrowski has gas in that arm, but the arsenal plays very low on the electric/nasty spectrum. It's not really fooling anyone, and he still struggles to finish off good hitters. Keep tinkering with it is my vote. Find an arm angle or grip or something new that will make him funkier.
  • Fischer and Adamczewski - They almost look like brothers in the batter's box. Lighting in those bats. Both are top 100 guys right now. Neither has an exploitable hole in their swing. Tough lefties will do what they do, but these are not platoon bats by any means.
  • Blake Burke is becoming my favorite in the Adams/Wilken/Burke cluster. I'm racking my brain to think of a comp for Burke. A more hitter-ish Rowdy Tellez? Very little crouch in the box and he drops the barrel on the ball with ease.
  • Braylon Payne looks well-coached and healthy as well. With health and prospect graduations, this is a top 100 guy at the end of the season.
  • Bitonti's bat speed looks leveled up this Spring. And he's playing some 3B in minor league camp. I hope that continues because I want to see his cannon in use. The wind could have been 25 MPH in his face today, and his home run still would have went comfortably over the wall. How big is this dude, eh?
  • Josiah Ragsdale and Daniel Dickinson were impressive from what I saw this Spring. Very well-rounded players. Cut from the perfect Brewers mold. More upside than the Freddy Zamora/Ethan Murray/Zavier Warren college hitter wave of yesteryear. And that's saying something because both Freddy and Ethan are on the cusp of earning big-league bench roles.
  • Ethan Dorchies is ready to continue his ascension. Like Payne, this is a top 100 guy at the end of the season. Producing Dorchies and Bishop Letson has more than made the Brewers unique draft strategy successful. How big is this dude, eh?
  • Speaking of big dudes who looked supremely capable, Wande Torres is going to throw 100+ quality innings this year. I'm hopeful he'll develop the rest of his shapes but the sinker and slider were enough today to set down the A's 2-4 hitters including Leo De Vries and Tommy White. Wande still has a future as a Brewers lefty bullpen piece with just the two pitches. This sinker alone was giving guys trouble. Looked in command of himself.
  • The really young guys, Ebel, Encarnacion, Ortuno and Anderson, got some work. Ebel's present and future talent level appears to be closer to the Bitonti/Payne group than the Encarnacion/Ortuno/Anderson group.

Excellent share. Bitonti has definitely calmed his pre-swing noise from 2025. I love where his swing is at entering this season after fighting timing seemingly all last season. His current swing honestly looks like a longer Fischer stroke which is a massive compliment. Dorchies is definitely a Hoss. Wichrowski continues to lack polish, yes, and the same movement and release issues that have plagued him are still, well, plaguing him. Until he tweaks that he will seem to remain a toolsy tease.

I remember one of Fischer’s big question marks during the draft process was how he’d hold up against velocity.

He’s had two 110+EVs in the last two days against 102mph and 98mph.

And both of those went pull side. Before he hit the double today, he yanked one foul that was also 110+.

First inning was 101mph to the warning track opposite field, lefty/lefty matchup with a top 50 prospect.

He’s damn good.

Made looked terrible in the field. Had two charged errors and from what I can remember could have been hit for a couple more. Does not look confident at all.

1 charged Error, I believe (unless there was another after Burke failed to corral the friendly hop)? Made's rushed throwing was an issue last season - his footwork and rushing things were consistent issues. There is certainly work to be done there. Unpolished, yes. But, man he is so athletic and rangy with, generally, great hands. If Pratt simply claims the starting SS role tho, which imho is still to be determined but he's shown incredibly well this spring, there is nothing wrong with an uber athletic hyper talented 2B who backs up at SS. Lotta ballgame left. AND, let's remember: 18 years old.

Two innings each for Dorchies and Torres. MLB.TV subscribers should find a way to watch the 4th thru 7th innings.

Really need to see Made start to make better swing decisions. I am so impressed by the 18 year old's physical ability. Now it is time to marry that with baseball IQ and plate discipline. Who cares about throwing errors. The fact he is showing the range at SS he is showing is what I really care about.

I don't think Payne looks at all comfortable in the box. It looks like he is bailing out on every pitch not shifting his momentum towards the pitcher and instead towards the first base line.

The second (and last of 2026) Spring Breakout Game saw a strong Brewers’ offense jump out to a 3-0 lead and rally late to grab an 8-7 advantage, but 4 errors and a run-scoring passed ball cost the squad in a 9-8 defeat to the Athletics.

SS Jesus Made (1-for-3) smacked the first pitch of the game 400 feet at 112.7mph for a double, with DH Luis Pena and 1B Blake Burke (2-for-3) following with RBI hits.

Starting RHP Tyson Hardin (2 IP) retired the first 3 batters he faced, but 4 hits (2 of the infield variety) and 2 walks cost him 3 earned runs as the A’s tied the game in the second frame.

The Brewers re-took the lead 4-3 in the 3rd inning on a Burke single and 3 walks, but could have gotten more (K, ground out with bases loaded).

An error, triple and homer off of RHP Brett Wichrowski and homer against LHP Jesus Broca put the good guys in a 7-4 hole in the 3rd inning, but RHP Ethan Dorchies and LHP Wande Torres combined on 4 shutout innings to allow for a comeback.

Super-subs Eric Bitonti and Darrien Miller blasted solo homers in the 7th and 8th innings, with Brady Ebel and 3B Andrew Fischer following with RBI doubles to pull ahead 8-7.

Three A’s singles and a walk tied the game against LHP Mark Manfredi in the bottom of the 8th inning. He bounced back to strike out the final 2 batters, but not before a run-scoring passed ball put the Athletics in front for good.

An 11-10 hit advantage and 7-for-7 stolen base success rate (including 3 for Burke) wasn’t enough to overcome the defensive miscues in this one. 15 Brewers’ hitters participated, along with 6 pitchers.

The Minor League seasons kick off with AAA Nashville on March 27, High-A Wisconsin on April 2 and AA Biloxi and Low-A Wilson on April 3.
