I love the bullpen pitch count and I don't mean to confuse things but I wonder if it needs a 3rd color for the times someone is called up and threw for Nashville during the week? For instance, McGee threw 20+ pitches on Wednesday for Nashville.. so while maybe a minor detail... it does maybe further the understanding of his availability. Super minor note ... but thought I'd say it.

That’s a fair point. I think the spreadsheet has some level of automation that probably doesn’t have the ability to search minor-league pitch counts quite so easily.

WASHINGTON – The Milwaukee Brewers may well have avoided the worst-case scenario with regard to Jacob Misiorowski.

The right-hander went through his normal day-after-start running program prior to Saturday's game against the Washington Nationals and reported no ill effects – undoubtedly a huge relief to both player and team alike after Misiorowski had to leave in the sixth inning of an active no-hitter on May 1 with cramping in his right hamstring.

This ABS challenge system is going to drive me nuts all year. What do you really gain challenging something so early in the game?

Plus, Gary seems to be wrong every time he tries.

System is fine IMO, we just need to be better, and more efficient at it. And maybe take challenge privileges away from Sanchez.

Well, Levering just said he's 6 for 8 so far this year, but the fact still remains challenging a ball call in the second inning of a game you're already leading by three is not smart baseball. It wasn't even a ball four.

I stand corrected.

Yeah, I didn't express myself well there. The actual challenges being used so early in situations that aren't even all that critical is going to drive me nuts, and I don't see these guys learning from this at all this year.

what an awful challenge by Mitchell

Yeah, if you’re going to burn your last challenge in the second inning, you had better be right, and he was not close to being right.

I think probably the most obnoxious thing is that I’ve having to come to terms with the fact that perhaps MLB umpires are not as terrible as I suspected they were.

At least, they know the zone much better than our players apparently do.

Of course they do.   This was a whole brouhaha about nothing.     Just get rid of the box on tv and the fans wouldn’t have known the difference.    It’s lame

It's time for Murphy to tell the hitters that they can't challenge early in games.  Challenges should be only used on defense for the first 5 innings or so.

Now this ump is going to royally suck the rest of the day and there’s nothing we are going to be able to do about it because we went after 2 calls he actually got right.
