In other "3rd baseman with power" news...

Andrew Fischer just broke the Timber Rattlers single season record for home runs. It is game 48.

Not unless he had 7 tonight.

T-Rats single season record is 22, and is held by 3 players.  Victor Roache, Clint Coulter, and Khris Davis.

MLB history is littered with guys who had “stuff” who never amounted to a hill of beans.

Sometimes it just never clicks.

With everyone here hitting on sprout, I’ll go on record now and say he ends up being a stud for us. Young with good stuff and hook will pull it out of him

I believe he may turn out well … eventually … a year or two into the future

Very true. But I've learned to trust the Big Branes in our organization.

1 hit through 5 in Coors is pretty bad

Rengifo could get an AB on the moon and still not hit one 400 feet.

Ahhhh, so they are saying since the T-Rats have been a high A team, not all time...

They stated it was the most since they moved to high A

You are correct. I read it wrong... TRats record since High A classification. My apologies.

Yes, they’re very good at what they do.

Here’s a counterpoint. If the Mets truly believed that Sproat was a future high end rotation piece, why would they throw him in as a second piece for one single year of Freddy Peralta?

Stearns wanted him.

This!  He is and ways a lottery ticket.  Could end up being something, and could be AAAA fodder.

thus far, he hasn’t shown me anything yet.  Not saying he won’t, I just get irritated when we have AAAA fodder starting, but proven MLB pitching like Patrick coming out of the bullpen.  Then again, it sound like Patrick likes coming out of the bullpen and pitches better when he doesn’t know he’s going to be pitching, so there is that.

with all the injuries, we don’t have 5 options better than Sproat at the moment, but I do know that we only have 2 pitchers (healthy & better) that Patrick in our starting rotation.

Speaking of Peralta, does anyone remember how frustrating it was watching him early in his career?
