This would certainly explain why Hernandez (MiLB Player Page) was oddly placed on the Wilson Development List to begin 2026. Hernandez is the potential victim in the situation.

The tweet above is part of a thread, here is the remainder:

A translated thread will be posted shortly.

Translations from tweets above:

According to sources, MLB may have opened an investigation for alleged Bullying involving the Brewers due to a situation related to a high-profile prospect from that organization against the rival pitcher Melvin Hernández.

MLB has an anti-bullying policy in teams since the 2016 collective bargaining agreement, in which players are prohibited from participating in a pattern of verbal or physical conduct with the aim of degrading, dishonoring, or causing mental harm to another team member.

“Representatives of the Milwaukee Brewers would have traveled to Rivas to interview Melvin Hernández about the case,” a source told 8Deportivo. Hernández was the best minor league pitcher for the Brewers in 2025. He led in wins in Class A with 10 games and an ERA of 2.00.

Hernández did not travel to Spring Training and decided to stay in his hometown of Rivas, Nicaragua.

That completes what has been tweeted thus far.

Hernandez turns 20 years old on July 3rd.

Never a hard thrower (at all), Hernandez has incredible pitchability, as is evidenced by his 0.99 WHIP and only 33 free passes (22 walks, 11 HBP's) in 121.2 innings last year (97 K's).

NOTE: We are strongly going to suggest and enforce extreme caution in this thread, and any speculation against any other specific player will be deleted from sight. Don't go there. The whole situation is troubling, and the phrase "related to a high-profile prospect" shouldn't be discounted and unfortunately doesn't help matters in terms of speculation. Hernandez spent all of last year with the Carolina Mudcats.

As for the source, 8 Deportivo is Nicaragua's most-watched sports show (Hernandez is a Nicaraguan native). It airs seven days a week.

Their 'X' account has regularly posted updates on the Brewers' Nicaraguan players (all who have been pitchers). For several years now, the Brewers have signed players from Nicaragua to a greater extent (by far) than any other MLB organization.
