Miz will down with Giannis as a draft pick that out of nowhere became a franchise altering pick. Small market teams need luck to compete. Two of the luckiest we have seen ever.

That’s legit the best game ever pitched by a Brewers starter right?  Sheets gave up 3 hits and a run in his 18K game

It’s definitely a strong contender.

Before last night my top 2 would be Sabathia’s should have been no hitter, and a 1 hitter by Teddy Higuera against KC in 1987.

Higuera did walk 2 ( both in the sixth inning) and “only,” struck out 9. But the final score in the game was 2-0 so he was pitching all night with the pressure of just trying to win the game.

I think we can all enjoy what Misiorowski is doing  now without getting too far ahead of ourselves about franchise altering players and all time greats.

Just thinking about Teddy Higuera is a reminder of how fragile players, especially pitchers, can be. It’s great to think about Misiorowski becoming this generation’s Scherzer or Verlander, but I lived in Michigan during Bird Mania in 1976 and I know things don’t always turn out that way

Of Misio's thirteen starts since Opening Day he has had two on four days rest, nine on five days rest, and two on six days rest.

If the past is any predictor of the future the Brewers will probably try to get him that extra day of rest, especially coming off a career high nine inning outing (even if it was a relatively low stress 95 pitches).

I would think that the Brewers have a tentative plan for starts for Mis and Harrison between now and the All Star break. That might include trying to get him starts in series against the Cubs, Cardinals, and Pirates.

I wonder if they will set him up to be available to pitch in the ASG. To do that, he could only pitch once in the 8 games against the Cards and Pirates unless they were willing to start him on only 4 days rest.

One way to look at this. If he pitches every fifth day between now and the ASG, he would get 6 starts with the last one being on the Sunday before the break. I would be shocked if they try to do this. So, he will likely get 5 starts before the break, usually with at least 5 days rest in between.

Working backward, he could pitch the first game of the 5 game Cardinal series and then the Saturday game against the Pirates, which would allow him to pitch one inning in the ASG with 2 days rest before and 4 or 5 days of rest after, He could have 3 other starts before that Cardinal series.

Marshy asked me after the game,” said Harper, referring to the Phillies’ Brandon Marsh, “he's like, ‘That's probably the best guy I've ever faced.’ And he asked me who’s one of the best guys I've ever faced, and I said Matt Harvey. He had that extension heater, and he was one of the first guys that really rode that heater at the top of the zone. Obviously, 104 is a little bit different.”

The Phillies’ star, perhaps with October in mind, saw a silver lining.

“I'm happy we were able to face him – and I'm not saying that in a good way or bad way, but I was just happy we were able to face him and see what that looked like,” Harper said. “He shoved it tonight. Tip your cap and try to go get them tomorrow.”

When Miz came up, I think a lot of comments of Brewer fans who watch basically every game, was something like, "if he can throw strikes consistently.. he's a threat to throw a no-hitter each time out".

I know I've said it already but with how quickly he's learned to harness this stuff.. it's just amazing. A generational talent if not a once-in-a-lifetime talent the Brewers have.

I hope not. I'm on vacation when the Reds come to town and would like to see him pitch in person.
