The NHL pauses their season during the Winter Olympics, so I don't see a big deal about MLB doing the same thing.  That said, the Olympic baseball tournament will only be seven days long and during the week that's normally All Star week.  Just skip the All Star Game in 2028, extend the break from four days to seven or eight and you can send all the stars to play in the Olympics with no major interruption to the schedule.

Hockey isn't the same as baseball. The temptation to win it all by using a pitcher on short rest or too many innings would have significant impacts on a team trying to win a pennant. Would you want team USA using Miz for 9 innings then pitching again for a few inning three days later so team USA could win gold?

The solution to that is pitch count limits with mandatory rest requirements just like Little League and I believe High School does the same.

And let me add, that just because they can, doesn't mean they should. I hate the idea of the Olympics shutting down the sport. Like the all-star game, I would be fine if no Brewers were chosen for the Olympics, and the players from MKE can simply rest for a week.

True but adding in negotiations with the IOC would significantly complicate CBA talks

Well, that’s an IOC question not something that Major league baseball can control.

However that is the whole issue;  Major league baseball wants their biggest stars in total national team commitment for the Olympics instead of say the WBC where they look like they’re trying not to get hurt before heading back to spring training, or skipped it all together

But you’re right the best they can probably hope for is someone like Misiorowski to show up, throw 50-60 pitches and head back to the states .

The genie has wrongfully been loosed from the bottle already I realize, but there is no reason that professional athletes in any sport should be competing in the Olympics. I could not care less if other nations stack the deck with professional athletes from their nation's version of pro sports. Integrity of competition is compromised when you have professionals competing in what was historically a matching of athletes whose sole motive was to prove "I'm better, faster, quicker, stronger" than you. I'd prefer America rise above it, even if that means never winning any golds in any sport ever again. Integrity matters in my world. An event originally and traditionally reserved for amateurs remaining an amateur event is part of how I define integrity. Much of the wide road world disagrees.

People don’t go to AAA games to see their specific teams players. At least not in the sense it dramatically shifts attendance one way or the other. Plenty of teams sell well and even teams with zero attachment to MiLB can sell tickets impressively well.

Nashville looks empty because MLB always required/preferred AAA stadiums to have 10k+ seating capacity. Which none of them really get close to achieving.
 

Reality: Nashville is a Top 5 attendance team across all of MiLB.
