Their game yesterday was postponed awfully conveniently given they were coming off a doubleheader with high bullpen usage...They've had 3 rainouts and a scheduled off day since 6/11. They've lost 3 straight and 4-6 over last 10, so not playing particularly well at the moment. They are throwing top of the rotation guys at us, though. Should be interesting...

Lockridge back soon? Can’t believe we have to have Perkins start games, we don’t have to live like this

Perkins has a 91 wRC+ against LHP this year. I really don't understand why fans complain about him being in the lineup against a LHP. You're telling me you'd rather have Frelick and his 21 wRC+ against LHP in the lineup today?

91s still below average, .209 avg, .678 OPS vs LHP yea I’d rather have a dude off the street

It was bad enough I had to watch Perkins get meaningful at bats in playoff games last year let alone still being on the team now

Perkins had the 6th best wRC+ on the Brewers in the postseason last year btw

91 wRC+ against LHP is fine for a glove first weak side platoon guy. He's been playing great this month as well with a 205 wRC+ and .389 xwOBA. You'd think him going 2-3 with a 2B and HR off Sanchez last week would get some people off his back for a bit but I guess not.

That doesn’t mean anything when he hit .200 and the entire team sucked.

The injection Lockridge got can take 6-12 weeks to heal the area? Good God I hope they just sign someone else instead to replace Perkins before then

Over the last two postseasons Perkins is one of 4 Brewers players to have a wRC+ over 100. It's genuinely insane how much abuse a 4th/5th OF gets from fans

The Rengifo angst has to be transferred SOMEWHERE.........

It IS getting a little annoying that it's taking as long as it is for Lockridge to head out on a rehab. But until he makes it back Perkins is basically filling the same role whether some like it or not. He was admittedly in a bad spot for quite awhile, from both sides of the plate as well as the so-called little things (couple popped up bunts, getting picked off 2B in Houston). But like you said he's been getting it done from the RH side lately.

Just call up Lara if Perkins is gonna be playing this much the next 2 months

Perkins has 36 PA since he was recalled for Lockridge on 5/9. In June he has 18 PA. He is hardly playing.

He had some bad luck in that stretch as well. Since he was recalled on 5/9 he has a .280 wOBA compared to a .330 xwOBA.

He is now starting every game vs LHP instead of Sal who as you said is completely trash vs LHP, in addition to coming in as a PH or defensive replacement damn near every game. Could give Lara all those ABs and defense opportunities and then also give one of Chourio an occasional off day vs RHP or Mitchell vs LHP to get him PT

Starting every game against a LHP is maybe 1-2 starts on a normal week. Brewers this week are facing 4 LHP in a span of 6 games so yes it will be more this week. Through the first 18 days of June it was 16 games and 18 PA. That's nowhere near enough playing time to call up a prospect and no taking playing time away from Chourio and Mitchell is not a solution to get Lara more playing time because that just hurts the Brewers.

Tonight will be Perkins 7th start (out of 36 total games, and 11 against LH starters) since coming back for Lockridge's injury.

So far they are 5 W - 1 L in the six games he started so hard to say he has really cost them much over this stretch where he hasn't even started every game against LHP.

His 36 PA are 13th on the team since his recall. Their 24 W - 11 L record is the best in MLB since that date also.

By almost single handedly beating Sanchez the other day he's probably had a more outsized positive impact than just about any other team's 13th guy over these last five weeks or so since he's been back.

I'd rather have both of them NOT be in the line-up if I'm being honest.

To be fair, Perkins has had the team’s biggest hit in the last two games against LHP starters.

Riding the hot hand.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.
