Pretty sure Yelich has a no trade clause. He isn’t going to approve a trade to the Mets.

The Crew are 23 over.500. Just insanely good first half so far. I’m just glad to be able to watch winning baseball. Makes the summer so much more enjoyable.

I believe that is Attanasio’s goal 🤓😏

Come on Ed - post it!

Sorry … I’m running slow tonight. My wife walked in to model a few new summer outfits I bought her today … with two outs in the bottom of the ninth.

I honestly don’t think most people watch baseball outside of the game the Brewers are playing. The Crew are a complete team. They don’t play like it everyday but they are really good in all facets. Most teams are not.

They haven’t played like that in awhile.   Even though I would have agreed earlier in the year.   It’s just a lot of bad hitting, base running, defense for awhile.   But they just have good starting pitching and it saves them

it also helps the back end of bullpen has **** down these close games

Who needs help? We’re 56-33!

They are going to need bats for the postseason.  Think that god awful Dodgers series,

I don't watch baseball outside of the Brewers.  But I watch just about every Brewers game.  So Inunderstand the Brewers are more of a complete team than almost every team because they beat the other teams 63% of the time.

I understand. Not sure we can acquire enough talent at the trade deadline to compete with the Dodgers. Maybe someone else will get lucky & knock them out for us.

They are really winning on the back of talent this year. Haven't played the clean baseball we are used to seeing from them which I think is a testament to how much the talent on the team has improved.

We would need to add Skubal and a high end bat just to get close to the Dodgers. I don’t want to give up the assets it would take knowing it still wouldn’t be enough to match the Dodgers.

Somebody else neats them, they have injuries, they have a couplenad starts in the series, Miz throws 2 shutdown ace gems and gor 2-3 in the other 5, etc.  The Dodgers could be the best team, and there are still scenarios where the Brewers get past them.  The more talent they add the more likely one of those things happens.  That said, I wouldnt advocate for emptying the system to mae a 1 year run.

Well, we've seen THIS movie before. All the elements that usually involve a "Brewers-y" type win were here this evening, except for a couple defensive miscues that needed to be overcome. And Drohan helped immensely in that regard. The way he & Sproat have stayed strong through rough patches in some of their recent starts is just so impressive.

Sounds from Murphy's presser like it might be a little while for Hamilton. If so, the affiliates have a day off so we can't check to see if anyone got pulled from their game. Not fair. I would imagine if a move is needed it would be Jett Williams?

If there's an Unsung Award on the team, just box it up right now & send it to Chad Patrick. What he's done, while changing around the way he was used, the days off, everything. Standing O.

There's a hitting theory that goes something like 'the first two strikes are yours, the third one is for the team', meaning you can pretty much cut loose then w/two strikes try to use the whole field, the "humble approach" Brian Anderson likes to call it. I could be wrong but after his first week or so it seems to me like Pratt has adopted that mindset. If he has, I wish he'd stop. Go back to the CF-to RF swing we saw earlier. Shelve the hero stuff for another couple hundred ABs or so.

I thought Contreras had his usual nice game behind the dish (the way they set up Burleson was fantastic), but at the plate he looked like he was playing in his 38th game in a row. And that's after a day off yesterday. He deserves the All-Star recognition but I'm not thrilled about him travelling & going through all that stuff instead of getting off his feet for three days.

I hope we add a few minor pieces & keep the majority of our Top 20 Prospects to position us for a strong next decade where we should have plenty of World Series opportunities. I also hope the new CBA levels the playing field some so we can compete with the larger market teams.

No apology needed, Soupy! I was attempting humor.  Your point is well taken. Yelich will be in Milwaukee until that albatross of a contract expires.

Drohan is a better starter than sproat imo.   But they will move him to bullpen

Drohan most likely has a lower ceiling, but I really like the way he battles. I believe he has the mentality to make a pretty good middle reliever, but both of them are going to be in the rotation now with Woodruff out.

We’ll be better next time. Teams in all sports often need more than one attempt to get good at the playoffs.

For real. I watch about equal between the Brewers and the Mariners. The Mariners are 47-44, in first place, and are coming off of an ALCS appearance.

The Brewers are 1000x more watchable. It's not even close. When I saw the Brewers are hitting like .150 with RISP over a few weeks, I was like, whatever, the Mariners batted .150 as a team in all situations back in April for like two weeks. Most of the Mariners' offense is to draw a couple walks and hope for a home run.

A little over a month ago, I went to two Mariners in the span of about a week and they GOT ONE HIT BOTH TIMES! I'm not even joking. Then the third game I went to they got 4 hits and that felt like a lot.

Rob Reysnyder has gotten 119 PAs for the Mariners in a favorable platoon situation. He is batting .133 with an OPS+ of 22. And he doesn't make up for it with his glove.

I could go on and on. Remember, the Mariners are not bad, they are in first place with a +27 run differential and will likely win their division. Their team OPS+ is 99, basically average. Yes, they pitch well, but their pitching ability is about equal to Milwaukee and actually worse when you take away their favorable home ballpark.

Brewers fans are going to be in for a rude awakening the next time we have a below-average offense. The average offense in MLB is terrible and half the teams are worse than that!

Yep, a full no trade clause and a no early opt out clause.
