Probably the most frustrating Brewer in recent history for me. He could be so so good but there is so much meat left on the bone he never seems to tap into.

Yeah I feel you there. Some of the best raw power on the team but for some reason he's decided he wants to be a low strikeout contact hitter. Feels like his effort level is very inconsistent. Some nights he just looks like he's going through the motions (has happened a lot lately)

I think the stuff back home has something to do with it. His brother was in a fight every other day last week and said as much. I'm sure focus is an issue. Before that he was playing well.

Maybe but I doubt it. This has been a thing with William long before the earthquakes in Venezuela.

Cubs keep winning. Don't know how but Brewers gotta keep throttle down

PCA is probably having the greatest 2 months of his entire career right now. He is just as streaky as Garrett Mitchell but credit to him hes cut down on the Ks and upped the BBs. This pace they are on isn't sustainable when you look at the state of their rotation.

Mitchell is saving that challenge for a special occasion, apparently.

To paraphrase The Sure Thing...

"I have...a challenge"

"You have a challenge?"

"Yeah, but my dad says I can only use it in an emergency"

"Well, maybe one will show up..."

Not a good night for the hitters, but you knew McGreevys' mixing and locating was a big part of it when you looked at the 6th inning. Top of the order, third time through & none of those ABs looked anything like they came from hitters seeing a pitcher for the 3rd time.

I've said often about Chourio that he's an immense talent with a really incomplete offensive game AFA swing decisions are concerned. By his 3rd AB you could kinda tell that he was aggressive early, not because he was getting something meaty to hit but because he just didn't want to get deep into the AB after the 2 Ks. Better pitchers are doing a good job of taking advantage of him. He seems like a smart kid; looking forward to the days when the gameplan AB to AB gets better for him.

Baseball gods weren't kind to Lara, giving him a couple tough plays in the sun field right off the bat. But you gotta love how he handles himself. I felt like he was about 90% of the way to completing a successful AB in that opening inning, and it could've been huge.

Koenig giving up the L vs L bomb is a bad look. I guess we'll have to see going forward. And Stallings......that's a helluva changeup if he can get to 2 strikes with it.

If we have to endure them winning, tonite was perfect. They aren't cashing in long term by winning 9-7 games.

My goodness where is the awareness of this team. It's the 9th.

What made it even uglier was that he just saw their catcher challenge on the previous pitch. Very few things in these games deserve the 'no excuse' tag but that was one.

I was shocked in his last AB when he almost beat out the ground ball. When you compare it to some of the balls he doesn't run out.........I get that he's a catcher & is working his arse off back there, but 'going through the motions' definitely seems an accurate depiction much of the time.

At 70 pitches, I would say he wasn’t given the opportunity to get through five innings

He said after the game that he’s been having elbow soreness his last few outings. Probably won’t be seeing him pitch for awhile.

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.
