The site won’t accept my email and password on the multi site thread, so I’ll post this here.

Every year the All Star Game brings back memories for me of when the All Star Game was one of the sports highlights of the year. Back in the days when the Braves didn’t televise games and the national Game of the Week was blacked  out in all MLB cities the All Star Game and World Series were the only televised games we could see. So it was a thrill to see the stars of the game, including the AL stars who never played in Milwaukee. And stars like Willie Mays and Stan Musial would play the whole game and the starting pitchers would go 3 innings. It was a real baseball game with star players trying win.

Over the years the game lost its luster to the point that it’s gotten to today. Top stars opting out or maybe making a token appearance while teams try to squeeze every player on the roster into the game  And hitting is very rare with a succession of star pitchers shutting down opposing batters.

To top it off, if you root for the Brewers league you almost always come away a loser. I’d have to count it up, but in their 56 years of existence the Brewers league has won something like 12 times. They switched from the AL to the NL just as the balance of power in All Star Games flipped. I’d like to think that’s just bad luck and coincidence.

I’ll probably have the game on tonight but won’t be glued to it

Note: If I raise something as a POSSIBILITY that does not mean that I EXPECT it to happen.

People still watch this game?

Evidently not, I could only take about 2 innings of it with the constant in game interviews. The MLB league office and media sure knows how to ruin a good thing.  Can't watch the NBA All Star game much more than about 20 minutes either.

I had the game on most of the time doing other things, certainly boring. I'll take the game in Milwaukee every time even if it ends up in a tie over that grind of a game last night.

I got back from walking the dogs halfway through the top of the first. Little did I realize the game was over at that point.

I don’t mind when they interview players in the dugout, but I can absolutely not stand it when they have people mic’ed up on the field.

Out of the four major sports, I would still put baseball at the top. I truly believe the players are trying to do well. Sure, the batters are basically, “see ball, hit ball.“.

My order would be:

1. Baseball

2. Hockey

3. Basketball

1000. Football

I'd rather watch the senior pickleball regional championship than the football pro bowl.

I'm not saying this for any other reason than I truly don't know:

Is there still a pro-bowl?

Didn't they switch to some flag football event or something?

Seriously, the pro-bowl hasn't been watchable for decades, I can't even tell you the last time I tuned in...
