The game thread is everything I expected and more. Being a fan of the team with the best record in baseball is exhausting and frustrating for some.

I'm just wondering if they were a little deflated or didn't sleep well after hearing about Skubal going to the Dodgers.

Need an acquisition or two tomorrow to give them a mental boost.

They face Skubal and the Dodgers on Tuesday.  Good luck with that win streak.

Family-related stuff makes me late to the party, but let me say that my favorite part of the game today was when Vinny Rottino, in front of a nation-wide audience, called Jackson Chourio a "contact hitter."

My second-favorite was when William Contreras came to the plate leading off the 9th inning, trailing by 3 runs, and chose to swing at a 2-0 pitch vs a guy who has a fairly high walk rate. When the body is still on the diamond but the brain is already on a plane back to Milwaukee it's time to pack the bats.

DL Hall can be so frustrating. For the most part no one has really hit him hard this year, but the freebies are just killing him. Sort of appropriate that he'd get back on the saddle today & walk the first man he faces.

The way Urena threw the ball & located, I think he shuts down a lot of people today. What bothered me most was opportunities in the 7th & 8th after he left that were really butchered.

I'm very serious. You don't think the guys are frustrated as hell after years of this nonsense? Remember how trading Hader tanked them that year? This can have the same affect, if not more so, you hear all the chatter about taking "big swings", and then he not only whiffs, but lets the team they are trying to beat for a WS appearance get him. I'd be LIVID if I were them. If you're going to talk the talk, then walk the walk.

Hey look guys, Jeffrey Leonhard has a new username.

As dead as the Brewers looked at the beginning and end of this road trip, even with a day off in the middle, I’m not looking forward to what they’ll look like when they  return to the west coast next week for the last 7 of 17 days in a row. Those games are against significantly better than the Giants and Angels.

But first the Brewers must face 4 games against a Pirates team that can score a lot of runs and has owned the Brewers so far this year.

If the Cubs go on a winning streak this race could get real close real fast

If the Brewers go on a win steak the race could get real far real fast.  If you take out the ifs, the Brewers were up 5 games on July 2nd, They are up 6.5 games on August 2nd.  F' the Cubs.

i don't know if it's because of ownership influence or his surgeries, but something about murph just seems "off" to me this year

Oh come the F on lol. Best record in baseball. Absolutely ridiculous post.

The Brewers have been 6.5 games better than the Cubs in the first 111 games.

There are no guarantees but odds are they aren’t going to be more than 6 games worse than them in the last 51.

Shutout by the Angels - There goes my fantasy of a sweep.  And here come the Pirates and Brian Reynolds.

They told the Brewers to break out the brooms and they misunderstood and used them for bats.

So, you’re saying the Cubs have no chance to win Tuesday?

Regardless, they don’t have to win every single game  for the next two weeks to gain ground, and picking up just a few games would make the race look a lot different.
