The Braves schedule is really tough down the stretch here. They get the Dodgers, the Phillies twice, the Rays, Astros, and the Cubs. Let's take care of business against the Mets and pick up some ground the next few days.

Bauers grounding into a game ending double play after Turang for whatever reason wasn’t tagging on Contreras fly out was a pretty fitting way for the game to end. Not playing clean Brewers baseball came back to bite them today.

Braves should really be worried about Phillies. They’re playing insane baseball rn

Why would Turang be tagging on that? He’s gotta be almost to 2nd and scoring if that gets down. If anything, he should’ve tried to steal. But that’s essentially never a tag play.

Turang has done that a few times this year.

Turang was correctly going halfway. If that ball had hit the wall and bounced away he might have been able to score.

Too many little mistakes tonight, in every facet. Drohan struggled to locate. If it weren't for a couple of very slick defensive plays and some good luck lineup-wise, facing the bottom of the order in RISPy spots, the Braves might have (should have) had 3 or 4 more.  Three poor infield plays each cost us a run. On the offensive side, a couple of bad ABs with the bases loaded in the 2nd kind of let Atlanta get into their preferred pitching plan. Definitely battled in Brewers style, but that one felt like an appropriate L. This is a big week for us to hopefully get a little healthier. Love to see Romero get into a game later in the week so he can maybe be ready for the Cubs. Feel good if we can post another 4-2. We do that and get some help from AZ, we can go a long way toward keeping this division race as drama free as possible. All of which is to say, right where we want to be.

No chance Turang is scoring if that’s off the wall with both defenders right there to immediately get the ball back in.

To me it was a day with a # of pretty good ABs but just enough bad ones to keep you from winning. Mitchells' first one was a killer after getting up 3-0. And he's been on a nice stretch too.

Couple of worm burners for runs for ATL. Felt bad for Hamilton. Two hard hit balls, another one where he didn't hit it well but had a great approach, and no hits. Then he can't make a play on the RBI dribbler cuz the grass gives out. Score that one for Punxsutawney Pete or whoever the groundskeeper in Williamsport is.

It'll be quite interesting when Frelick returns AFA roles & PT are concerned. Lara's triple after falling behind 0-2 & battling, that was some impressive stuff.

I’ll get over it, but it still bugs me that the Brewers had to give up a home game to play in this event. 

There’s obviously no guarantee, but I think the Brewers chances of winning would have been better playing on a familiar field (one without chunks of turf coming up on an infield grounder) in familiar surroundings with the home crowd behind them. 

If this game ends up costing the Brewers a tiebreaker against the Braves I’m really going to be ticked.

The season series against the Braves might be a preview of a division series matchup and,, except for the one game the Brewers won in a rout, they were the type of low scoring games you would have to expect.

Halfway there from 1st is usually standard fare. But down two runs (& with no one out) yeah, you'd like to see a little better presence of mind there. It's a 'feel' thing for the runner, but I'd still like to know if Spencer Allen covered it beforehand.

OK. But even if that happens and he’s tagging up there would be a close play at second and you’d have runners on first and second instead of second and third. 

With both fielders that close instead of one backing up the other a ball hitting the wall might have bounced past both of them.
