Lara is weird. He seems to have a really good eye for pitches out of the zone and doesn't swing and miss much (eye test, not looking at stats), but he watches pitches go past him down the middle A LOT.

Gotta wonder how much of this is the mound falling apart on Miz after the 1st two breaking pitches he tried throwing after getting ahead 0-2 on PCA to open the game.

It's an excuse, sure...but also something he's got to figure out so it road game mounds all dont wind up being quicksand in his landing area

Yea this has gotten in his head and he has to get it corrected.  He's the common denominator here, no other pitchers are having these issues.  He's the one doing something different than the norm.  Maybe need longer cleats or just have to start taking slightly smaller strides, idk

Frankly he's the only one with that long of a stride so opposing grounds crews can conveniently under prepare that spot without it affecting anybody else

Jesus ***** is it a crime to let Vaughn play at least six innings.

Murphy saw his ridiculous numbers his third time up and figured he was due to regress. Better to get ahead of it

Just another reason to get a bye and set up your rotation so he pitches at home, then.

Well then he has to reduce his stride a smidge and give up an inch or two of advantage.  This is likely just how mounds have been made for years and years.     Pretty pretty pretty far stretch to be jumping to a conspiracy theory.    There's been other 6'7+ guys with long strides that haven't had the problem.    This likely just how mounds have been made forever and he's extending too much and slides a bit much.  We can't expect them to go out of their way to do something different just for him.

And really, I don't even see him slide or have an issue on the throws. he then kicks at it.  Maybe digging it up on his own in between pitches isn't the best thing to be doing either.  IMO its mostly in his own head at this point.  ETA: like every time I'd miss a shot at pick up basketball it was because my hands were wet, lol

I can't see Miz pitching another inning. How do you cover five innings with the bullpen?

You think you can hurt me? I watch Wisconsin sports. You can't hurt me.

How would you feel if he suffers a torn ACL or some other injury because of the **** mound? How do you think the players union would feel about that. It's a safety issue.
