That's on Sal for being a dumbass and not challenging that first pitch.

And the ump, im not giving them a pass for being terrible at their job just because of the challenge system

I mean... only because THERE'S NO ACTUAL RULE.

I hate this ****! What's a check swing? Someone tell me. It's incredibly inconsistent. That said... we may not have the biggest gripe in this series in that regard.

Everything is a swing...

"Rock, sometime, when the team is up against it, and the breaks are beating the boys, tell 'em to go out there with all they got and win just one for the Uecker. I don't know where I'll be then, Rock but I'll know about it; and I'll be happy."

For sure, Sal shouldve, but at the same time its wild to have to challenge something that far in.

I mean MLB umpires suck. We know that. It’s the 11th inning and it was WAY off.

A zillion reasons to challenge that egregiously wrong call.

Should have pinch hit there for Sal.

Frelick has had some of the best at bats of the post-season for the Brewers.

No reason to pinch for him there.

ugghhhh hate using Ashby here. If it was just 2 innings there'd be a chance he could go tomorrow, but now he's all but guaranteed to be unavailable

All good. He'll have... 180 days of reste!

Only from the 3rd base ump, the 1st base ump calls everything no swing.  They have very different definitions of a swing.

Except on Caminero.....

It's lore, not rule. I think most umps say past horizontal to the plate is a swing

If Miz had shown any ability to strongly go 6+, I would happily send Ashby out there.

But man…feels like tomorrow Miz better be dominating tomorrow now that Ashby is getting burnt up today.

I'm still incensed at that overturned stolen base in the 9th - you burned Vaughn on that and NY botched the call

I am still stewing about that too. But the way things are going tonight Vaugh hits a liner right at an outfielder or has a weak groundout. It sure doesn't feel like our night but I have to stay up to find out.

He had 2 days off and there’s an off day potentially on Thursday

Still not a good matchup for him.

Sens after two yesterday feels bad.

Late enough that you're just choosing the least bad option. Like saving some of Ash, chance he can give you an inning tomorrow if necessary

We have got to stop using the word “unavailable” to describe pitchers at this juncture of the World Series.

Its the World Series. They’re all available, every day. Gasser is probably throwing an inning tonight if it’s absolutely necessary.
