Most scouts seemed to think Inman would hit a wall before he made it to the majors and so far that appears to be the case this season. I'm not all that upset about the loss personally.

I'm not so sure Linebrink is the same pitcher he was two years ago either though.

That really helps the pen. Wonder why the pads trade him for 3 minor leaguers? They have a tough race ahead of them, and could use all the quality arms they can get.

Good move! Take that Cubs..

I personally don't think this is the last move. Attanasio probably decided to win now not another 3 or 4 years from now. :-)

Another wow from over here. The obligatory 'LOVE IT' too.

I followed all of the Padres' box scores for the first [what seems like] third of the year when Bell, Meredith, Linebrink and Hoffman had the scoreless innings streak.

Giving up a possible maybe for a sure thing is anti-Brewers, but then again, see my signature.

Awesome!

How many years left on Linebrink's contract? How much is he making right now? What's his future status here?

Good to know Ender. That eases the pain a bit. Also picking up one of the best setup men in baseball helps.

This was in chat w/ Keith Law earlier in the year. I am not saying he knows everything, but he has been a scout in the majors and usually knows what he is talking about. If that is Inman's ceiling, I love the deal.

Chris (madison): Keith, what do you know about Alcides Escobar, the Brewers rep in the Futures Game? Are there any other names on the farm Milwaukee fans should know?

SportsNation Keith Law: He was really out of place - very young, very raw, athletic, but didn't look good compared to all the more polished guys there. Jeremy Jeffress has a tremendous arm, but of course he's very raw. Matt LaPorta may or may not be able to play LF (I'm a skeptic on that one), but he definitely has big power, arguably the best raw power in this year's draft. Will Inman has a chance to be a 4th-5th starter. That's about it at the moment; they got a little thin with all the promotions this year.
