I'm actually not even that hungry, but for some reason, a cheese sandwich sounds really good right now. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/happy.gif

If you would have told me a few months ago our pitching staff could do this, I would have thought you were crazy. Amazing.

hey, im up this later every night...

jerks

and i too, was hoping for a spivey k...and wished there was some way for jenkins to strike out a few more times...this will help the brewers credibility...

i assure you guys that when this game is mentioned on sportscenter (am edition), all they will mention is the sheets almost perfect game...and the 26 k's by the brewers...

Time to crack one of the Leinie's I brought back from my trip back to WI.http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/pimp.gif

And think, we didn't even have to sacrifice that chicken.

Pogo, was the triple post an attempt to reach the 1,000 mark?

Bet the Angels fans feel crap, but at least its not so late there.

Bennet might be my new hero - and having seen Spivey I think Weeks probably can play 2B in the majors http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/roll.gif

I'd like to know how many teams have K's over 25 times in one game and still won http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Serously though, our offense could NOT be worse. Well, I suppose they could have gotten 4 hits in 17, like the Angels http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Good Night!

Wow, game recap up at ESPN about 10 minutes after the game ends. I guess nothing else was going on http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

Batman and Roco may need Pinchposters. This wasn't just a game, it was an experience. If something happens to Toby from that cheese sandwich this site may have to call up some posters from the minors for a few days.

Hey guys, checkin' in from NY. Talk about die-hard, it's an hour later here. 3:30am. I was glued to the mlb.tv webcast the whole time. I wasn't on this thread because I'm insanely superstitious - I needed to be seated a certain way, with my video feed fullscreen and my mouse cursor in a certain place. I had to log off AOL IM so my buddy wouldnt interrupt. Maybe I need some professional help.

I almost literally burst out sobbing at the Pods double, and then again after the last out. Not like for joy, but like I'd just had a near-death experience. Starting the 13th inning I was telling myself, it's just a meaningless baseball game! Any minute now my wife's gonna wake up and wish I were in bed with her. Why the hell am I watching this?

Glad I did. Here's hoping that Jenkins' "performance" tonight doesn't mean what I'm afraid it might mean.

Batman and Roco may need Pinchposters.

Unfortunately we lost a promising young poster recently. Squarepusher DFA'd him due to his poor mechanics (using the right pointer finger to push both the "g" and "h" keys), and he was claimed by a fansite of another club (although one with less overall talent).

This in the same 48-hour period that it was discovered that Toby would once again have to change his user name to accomodate the trade of Jason Belcher. Current front-runners for inclusion in the new nickname for the minor league guru are Steve Moss, Khalid Ballouli, and Tommy Hawk (sure sounds like a porn name to me).

Also, if Sheets throws like this after dizzy spells, I say before his next start (also a day start, which is perfect for him at Miller Park!!) they should have him practice for those races where you spin around the bat and then run.

All you weenies on Central Time need to stay up one hour after this game to prove you're a real man like East Coast MassBrew.

And it'll take me 10 minutes to go to sleep.

Ben just 'gets it'. Quote:

"this one was better (than the 18k game) because I didn't give up a run. There's no way possible to lose if

you don't give up a run."

Just think. We have the best pitcher in the majors on our team. Kinda cool.

Just going over the game quotes this wonderful morning after finally getting some sleep.

Ben Sheets really has to be proud of his performance but he also has to be steaming. This lack of offensive production, especially for the top of the rotation is just getting sickening. Sheets gives up one hit. Not a bomb, a single and he still can't be in a position to win.

Speaking of that single, if I were Ben I would be watching the game tape wondering how in the world Guerrero got enough of that. The pitch was picture perfect.

To me it is more realistic to see Geoff Jenkins strike out six times. Look at the other name on the list that had a handful. Since when does Ben Grieve strike out 5 times? I didn't even know that was possible with how picky he is while at the plate.

What happened to the "think opposite field" strategy that Butch preached to the hitters? How many times have Brewers batters tried to pull the high/away pitches?
