Agreed. That guy must have little sense about the brewers. Why would Melvin trade Weeks, Villy and another prospect for a 1 year rental. He also said Fielder, Braun, Hardy, Weeks, Hart, Gallarado were untouchable. I would offer the Twins Hall and a lower level prospect.

Kind of interesting to see how little press Gagne is getting right now. Considering how much talk there's been about lower-profile guys like Herges, Hawkins, etc while being almost none about Gagne, he must have scared a lot of teams with his Boston performance. Doesn't seem like much interest at all at this point.

That is crazy. I wouldnt want to trade Villy for Nathan. Let alone Weeks and another prospects. This shows why you can't put too much stock in some blogs. What would be a fair trade for Nathan is a good question, but it is hard to say because it is so dependent on whether you can sign him to a deal

Second base is the easiest position to fill on the field.
That because most teams put Joe Schmo at 2B.

Now 2B who can hit 20+ home runs and 30+ stolen bases are a little harder to find. That rumor is really ridiculous. The Brewers wouldn't trade either one for Nathan.

The Brewers would probably have to include Rickie Weeks, along with Carlos Villanueva, and maybe another prospect. I do not think that is too much to ask for.

It's not Weeks for Nathan, it's not even Weeks and Villanueva. It's Weeks, Villanueva, and maybe another prospect. This guy should stick to reporting rumors and not try to speculate on what kind of deals might go through if a GM binges on absinthe and Knob Creek before the meetings.

According to this SF Chronicle article, Joe Nathan is in Nashville during the Winter Meetings hanging out with his agents and with Giants personnel. Apparently, he is well aware that the Giants and Brewers are looking for a closer. I guess Nathan may be in Nashville thinking he might be traded and offered an extension. Looks like the Giants are very keen on him, wonder if Brewers personnel can hangout with Nathan and his agents in Nashville as well...

Well he is old enough for the Giants....

He's like 32 or 33 you have to be at least 35 for the Giants to want you.
