  1. You gotta think AZ is trying as hard as possible to land Lucroy based on his experience in catching AZ's new mega millionaire pitcher, Zach Greinke. I'm thinking this will be the eventual landing spot for Lucroy. AZ's park is almost mirror to Miller Park where Luc would be able to feel comfortable hitting.
  2. And you know this because? A. Everybody assumes it B. Stearns has let you in on it C. It's not possible a young player already in the majors has any appeal whatsoever because they are building for 2023 and beyond when Arcia will be gone, not 2020 It's not what you would take Crickets, it's what Stearns would take and unless Stearns is on here or you have a pipeline to what he's thinking, I wouldn't rule out any possibility but I agree, none of these proposals are appealing, but not because some players have major league experience. B. Stearns has let you in on it Come back anytime Crickets. Don't let your profile name represent how often to post/provide nuggets.
  3. 96 followers = not a real rumor. R.E.L.A.X. Chill out everyone. This forum is to discuss rumors ors which is exactly what the poster brought to the table. At least this person is bringing a rumor to the discussion rather ongoing banter about whether it was right or wrong for Lucroy to say the crap he did. That discussion should be brought to a different thread entirely. This thread is about trade rumors revolving around our catcher. Period!
  4. Lots of stories coming out focusing on Lucroy the last 2days. Rosenthal and now Olney with stories. Smoke=fire?
  5. I'm surprised no one has submitted a picture of Major League reference: Who are these guys?!
  6. Who is better? Davies or Lopez? From what I saw of Lopez last season, I enjoyed. Davies relies heavily on his off-speed pitches which could get him into trouble...especially at Miller Park. Thoughts on Lopez making the rotation?
  7. Who are out Left handed position players going to be? To my recollection, we have: a platoon candidate in Scooter along with our 3b platoon candidate in Cechhini. Am I missing something here or wasn't one of the goals of this offseason was to get more left handed offense?
  8. I think these moves guarantees that Davis and/or Lucroy is gone. Claiming a guy out of options isn't for organizational depth when you have 2 established catchers on the big league roster. Agreed. It's just a matter of time before we hear about Lucroy being dealt. Braun will be moved back to LF which is better position. Santana will be moved to RF- his better position. Broxton/Nieuwenhuis will man CF until Phillips arrives in 2017. Davis=Gone.
  9. Can we just trade Luc already and be done with it? I'm pretty stoaked to see what return he'll bring.
  10. I saw a fan post about how he was trying to hit more homers last year. Sounds like that could have screwed him up. Just let him go back to being a guy who gets on base a ton and it will be a really good pick-up. Agreed, I'm sick and tired of the HR or bust mentality of this team over the years. These guys are professional hitters. They'll hit HR's from time to time and we still have HR hitters on this team. We need to surround them more with positional hitters and strategic hitters/smart hitters. I approve this message.
  11. Keep Segura. Start him at second. Play Yadi Rivera at SS. Raise Seguras value even more. Trade Scooter for more 19 year olds
  12. True, however our young pitchers are and to have someone as valuable behind the plate mentoring the pitchers throughout the game is invaluable. I don't see Lucroy going anywhere this year to be honest. I would love to see him traded as his value is somewhat high right now, but the perks of having him behind the plate for one more year are too rich. Plus, he could have a monster season this year and increase his trade value even more.
  13. Would love to see Montgomery retained.
  14. Ken Rosenthall reporting Jays highly interested in Fiers.
  15. What do you all see as the % that Lucroy gets dealt? Over 50%? Over 75%?
  16. Herb Kohl. The reality is that Melvin probably wasn't even the biggest problem (but certainly part of the problem). With Mark A in the owner's chair and writing checks for guys like Garza, Lohse, and Ramirez, we're not likely to see anything change in the short term. It's no secret that Mark has a perpetual "go for it" mentality, and he's likely to demand that same ideal from his next GM, whether it be an internal or external candidate.
  17. While I figured this was going to be the case at the end of the year, I am still somewhat upset about this news. For such a long time, Doug and "his philosophies" have been directing this organization. His mindset, his "find personnel to meet the ballpark" philosophies, his assessment of the minor league developments. Now, he's going to still be making decisions about all of this, however just in a more powerful role. Yes, Ray will be the GM, however I'm assuming Ray will still be making decisions based on the mindset and philosophies of DM. Our problem is the minor leagues. We don't have the necessary Learning To Be Professional Ballplayers philosophy in place. Grip it an rip it is and always has been DM's goal. Consider me in the group that is upset to see this same mindset moving forward even with a new GM in place. Same ole Brewers....
  18. If an out leads to a higher percentage of us scoring a run, I'm all-in on giving up one of my precious 27 outs. Risking the odds of this Brewer team with say runner's on 1st and 2nd and no outs..to actually move the runners over or score the runners is low. Giving up an out so that they move over to scoring position and allowing the other two batters swing away is more along the line of the way I hope they change things up. Hoping that a sub .300 hitter can swing the bat appropriately and either get a hit or not strike out or hit into a double play is just that...sub 30%. Give me a bunt and move the runners over and allow the next guy to score them.
  19. As a huge fan of rebuilding...this season is working out perfectly for me!
  20. Thank goodness we didn't trade anyone for him in hindsight. Losing prospects for a closer which we're unable to use in this young stage of the season would have been gut wrenching to know. Can we turn this season around? Possible, but for the fact that we're already 10 games under and looking forward to a trade deadline...knowing Papelbon isn't on this team makes me happy.
  21. Just my opinion , but I don't think a lack of bunting is or has ever been a problem under Roenicke. Khris Davis has 0 successful sacrifices in his career. The one thing he does well is drive the ball. I'd be pretty upset if they had him try to sac bunt (probably unsuccessfully) with the weak hitting Parra on deck. Difference in philosophy I guess. I understand where you're coming from, however I just feel that trying to optimize your scoring chances early when you're already down 4 runs would have a "change" from last year.
