  1. It's not like characters haven't been reborn in the Star Wars universe.
  2. They're going to re-edit it so Jar-Jar is the one who kills Darth Maul. In episode IV?
  3. Segura may play every day but when a starting pitcher is playing they have far more control over a game's outcome than a position player.
  4. Garvry's OPS+ is 117 for his career. .775 OPS was obviously good during his playing career.
  5. I read it as Gomez Gold Glove... Winner? Awesome. Nope, Finalist. Crap.
  6. No player wants to have their salary dictated to them.
  7. LOL! I look at this Series as I do most presidential elections, LESSER of two evils! That was great AZBrew! The cardinals can never be considered the lesser of two evils even if they were standing side by side with the devil.
  8. The biggest problem and the thing that makes MLB so much different from other major sports is the extensive minor league system. MLB salaries are only part of the cost of running a MLB franchise.
  9. He isn't paid to be the 33rd best hitter in the league. He is paid to be top 10.
  10. If you take a pessimistic view of Fielder, 2011 looks like the outlier over the last 4 years.
  11. You are probaly going to see the same thing for Ron. Except it will be Yuni on the dice.
  12. Once Molina and Carpenter are gone I could respect the Cards. Provided the bean ball crap stops. "As a player, I just think he doesn't know [about how to act]," Cardinals outfielder Carlos Beltran said. "That's what I think. He really doesn't know. He must think that he's still playing somewhere else. "He has a lot of passion," Beltran said. "No doubt about that. Great ability. Great talent. I think, with time, he'll learn that you've got to act with a little bit more calm. "So you know, he's going to learn. It's going to take him time, but he's going to learn. When you try to do those things sometimes, you know, you get that attention. And you don't want to wake up nobody. I always thought if you hit a home run off a pitcher, you've got to make him believe he made a mistake. You don't wake him up. Or next time, the pitcher's going to be more focused with you and he's going to try harder to get you out. "So he will learn," Beltran concluded. "I don't think he's a bad kid. I just think he doesn't know right now." Nevermind. It seems to be an organizational thing.

  14. Depends what he tells his kids.
  15. I think they may have to enforce the rules to the letter of the law with how they are going to implement replay. The better way to go, in my opinion, would be to do replay like in college football. Have an extra umpire in a booth.
  16. That is why we don't like Chris Carpenter.
  17. That's what we all said about Yuni. Who said that? I always thought it was a horrible idea.
  18. I would think that his Yuniesque batting in 2011-2012 would be enough to say no.
  19. Because all 5 pitchers we use will be healthy all year and we will not have to fill in with bad pitchers again next year.
  20. You need to look at the bigger sample instead of just picking and choosing what to look at. I was looking at their career lines. I am not saying Aoki might not be of some value in a trade but it looks like Choo is head and shoulders a better hitter. .288/.389/.465/.854 .287/.355/.399/.754
  21. Extrapolating what Braun and Ramirez actually did this year would have probably been another 7 WAR between them.(probably pretty close since Braun looks like about a 6 WAR year to year player and Ramirez about 4 WAR) Call Hart another 3(which is more than he gave last year). Call Weeks a 3(which is more than he put up last year and is probably a little generous considering last year. That puts us at 87 but then you have Gomez who probably outplayed his expected WAR by about 4 puts us back at 83. That's within a couple games of expectations. I think people overestimate how much each individual player is worth.
