  1. I think we should go hard after this guy, as will most other teams, but I hope we are all in!
  2. ...David Cassidy.
  3. I have to say I agree with this philosophy, but adding one FA starting pitcher on a short deal, even at 20 million per season will not handcuff our future. I don't want Arrieta or Cobb, and I want nothing to do with multiple minor league guys for Archer. The guys available don't do anything for me. Stay the course...
  4. man, it's a bummer he is out there for someone to grab up... agreed.
  5. Marques Johnson deserves a bobblehead as a player, it's a crime he doesn't have one yet.
  6. any idea if there will be a season 3 without any spoilers please? I have yet to watch season 2, but looking forward to it.
  7. This. Spending cash right now since we have a lot to spend is smarter than depleting the minors.
  8. NO thanks! Trading Harrison in any package that does not get us an ACE is a silly proposition imo...I am not on the Archer or Cobb train, they just aren't going to be difference makers, in that they can get us over the hump to a playoff appearance. Trading away our future for either guy is just not smart.
  9. Anyone have a link?
  10. Finally got around to watching, and binged the first season this weekend. (Watched on DVD, I don't have or want netflix, but so many people around me talk about this show, I had to see what all the fuss was about. Got the DVD for $7.99 shipped on ebay.) Great show, intriguing, and interesting...
  11. Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports that the MLBPA has set a Monday deadline for resolving the posting system issue. This issue hangs heavy over the Shohei Otani market, which can't really get moving until the new parameters for payment to Nippon Professional Baseball teams are decided. The old system called for up to $20 million going to NPB teams, but there's talk of a new system that would give NPB teams a percentage of the contract Japanese players sign with MLB clubs. Otani is only 23 years old and subject to international signing restrictions, so his first MLB contract won't carry much up-front cash. Which is why his team in Japan, the Hokkaido Nippon-Ham Fighters, want the old posting system to be grandfathered in. We should have a resolution soon. Source: Jon Heyman on TwitterNov 16 - 10:33 AM
  12. If I were to switch to a dish system, what are the best companies out there? Dish network, etc? I have friends who have had bad experiences with satellite/dish systems, I just hate the thought of going that route. The thought of switching is such a giant pain in the rear, new equipment, new services, new remotes, etc...
  13. Latest: "According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, there are significant hurdles to clear for the MLBPA to approve the $20 million dollar posting fee system for Shohei Otani. The report states that the MLB commissioner's office was hoping to to receive approval from the union on Wednesday, but it didn't happen. Here is what Heyman writes: "The union actually challenged the future terms covering 2018-2020, but with complaints heard on the player side regarding current rules that calls for Nippon Ham cashing in with a $20 million posting fee windfall while Otani is limited to a signing bonus of somewhere between $300,000 and $3.53 million, management people wonder if the bigger union concern is over that perceived inequity." It's been widely reported that finances are not a major factor in Otani's desire to play for a major league team, but the players union appears to be doing their due diligence while not setting a precedent for a future talent like his if/when they come along. The pursuit of Otani by MLB clubs can't get underway until this is settled. Source: FanRag SportsNov 15 - 11:06 PM"
  14. My cable just went up to $180 per month which includes TV (no premium channels like HBO, SHO, Etc) Internet, and a landline phone. We can only get Spectrum for cable. When it was Time Warner Cable a few short months ago, we were paying $140 per month. Immediately after they switched over to Spectrum, my promo offer ran out (another total scam that cable companies push onto their customers), and it jumped to $160. That was in May or June. Now, my last bill came in at $180. That is obscene to me, to pay that kind of money per month... I have made two phone calls to Spectrum, trying to get that cost dropped, to no avail. They are playing absolute hardball. They told me I could probably save money off my bill by switching from my Time Warner Cable bundle to their Spectrum bundle. Huh? They are all under one roof now, why is that even a thing? So I had them figure it up, keeping my package the same, same channels, same internet speed, etc. My new bill would now be $1.46 MORE than I am currently paying, and would include the best internet speed they offer, new boxes on all my secondary tvs that would provide all the channels my main dvr tv gets (currently, that is not the case, those tvs only pick up a certain amount of channels), but they completely ignored my reason I called in the first place, which was to lower my freaking monthly bill. Both times I have called, I got the same song and dance. blah blah blah I asked to talk to their supervisor, or someone who can give me a better deal than the regular joe phone jockeys, and both times, they were unable to make my bill any less. Even when I threatened to leave for a dish company, they seemed uninterested, and don't care much if I leave. Customer loyalty means nothing to them, been a customer for 13 years. So what I am asking is this, does anyone have a strategy that works to get my bill lowered, or am I screwed? It seems at this point, they are going to force me to either pay their ridiculous bill, or leave and go to a satellite dish company, which I do NOT want to do, and which they really don't seem to care if I take that route.
  15. Big market teams will go BIG on him, leaving small market teams like Milwaukee out in the cold. Would be nice to go all in on the guy, but the allure of the YankeesRed Sox/Etc. and/or West coast teams isn't going to allow it.
  16. why, WHY?
  17. agreed. I think this is another case of ex-brewer love.
  18. thank you!
  19. You are braver than me. lol
  20. Can someone tell me how to block a member? Not a big deal, no one has done anything wrong, I just want to block a person so I don't have to read their posts any longer. Thanks in advance.
  21. I watched all of season one, and a couple episodes into season 2, then I bailed. It bored me, and wasn't funny, so I gave up. Love the Office and Parks and Rec. but Superstore is just not good. To be honest, I am shocked it hasn't been cancelled yet.
  22. Can you reserve seats on line with that pass, or is it only once you arrive at the theater?
  23. After seeing him all season in Appleton, I have no hopes for this kid at all. He was a constant disappointment. As zagski6 said earlier, he was completely lost at the plate, and was lazy in the field as well as running the bases. Looked like he just doesn't care. Hard to believe anyone would waste an opportunity to play in the bigs, but that is what he seems to be doing.
  24. Look in the trading post, right on this site. It's pinned to the top. Don't go by the prices listed though, they are not all accurate. Also, the minor league bobbles are not completely updated either..
