  1. Crap. Wanted him to go someplace else other than St. Louis or the Cubs..
  2. We have our future 3B already, Wilken will be there at some point this season, just a matter of how soon they will move him up. I've been saying since last season, this kid is going to solve our 3B problem for years to come! I was actually hoping they would trade Turang so we could have Black at 2B and Wilken at 3B. Now that we look like we are keeping Adames (this year anyway) especially.
  3. 100% agree. He wanted out of Milwaukee, and the money was a bonus. Not sure he will fess up as to why he wanted the change, but the writing was on the wall, he wanted out! Just too bad it had to be the Cubs of all teams. I'm now fine with it, just gives me one more reason to root against them.
  4. Screw Craig Counsell, I hope he goes 0-162.........................................FOREVER!
  5. Yup, the Milwaukee press NEVER asked the tough questions, threw him softballs his entire time here. I'm not real familiar with the Chicago press, but I highly doubt they will be as easy on him as we were. I look forward to seeing him squirm.
  6. It may have been a vanilla shot, but it was a shot none the less. It was a dig for sure, if he meant it to sound like it did, I don't know, but I know this: I will enjoy rooting against the guy. Screw Counsell, he is now the enemy.

Really loving the new Ace Frehley that came out yesterday!
  8. I'd be intrigued by Syndergaard. Is there any chance he can be the pitcher he was before the injuries? I read his fastball is coming around.. If cheap, he has the opportunity for lightning in a bottle...
  9. Aaron Ashby (shoulder) is healthy and will compete this spring for a spot in the Brewers’ season-opening starting rotation. Ashby is among a handful of back-end starting rotation options for Milwaukee this spring after missing all of last year recovering from left shoulder surgery. The 25-year-old southpaw showed some flashes of fantasy potential earlier in his career and could be worthy of a speculative roster spot, if he locks up a rotation spot. Source: Todd Rosiak
  10. This feels gimmicky to me. I don't like the idea of taking anything away from his offensive comfort zone. Trying to learn two new positions takes away from him concentrating on hitting. Just not a fan of this kind of move, when we have a lot of guys who can play 2B and 3B who know the positions. Sorry to be a buzzkill, but I just don't like this.
  11. Oh boy, are you setting yourself up more some pretty big disappointment...
  12. Brewers released C Austin Nola. It seems Nola requested the move after the Gary Sánchez signing left him fourth on the Brewers’ catching depth chart. The Athletic’s Ken Rosenthal says Nola will be signing a major league deal with Kansas City, where he’d presumably be third on the depth chart ahead of Sandy León.
  13. I know this for certain, I will be rooting against CC hard all season long, not just when we play him, but every game he manages. I want to see complete and utter failure from him and his team.
  14. Gary Sánchez suffered a hand injury during a workout which was why the deal with the Brewers stalled. An interesting wrinkle into the Gary Sánchez signing. Last season, Sánchez suffered a wrist injury in early September and ended his season. However, he told Brewers beat reporter Todd Rosiak that it wasn’t the wrist that held up the deal with the club; it was a hand injury that he suffered several weeks ago during a workout. This doesn’t seem to be all that concerning since Sánchez was cleared for baseball activities, however, it sheds light on the delay of the signing. Source: Todd Rosiak
  15. All I know is that I like 3 million plus incentives WAY better than 7 million guaranteed. This way he has to play well to get the $. Love that!
  16. The post I am referring to said something like 14-17 million in 2025, that was on top of a salary for 2024. Too lazy to go find it. The current deal has a mutual option for 2026, which was unknown at the time.
  17. I was one of those schmucks, I tuned out for 2 full seasons (guess what, I didn't miss it....AT ALL! In fact, it was pretty damn fun to spend Sundays and the other random nights not glued to the TV), until Brady signed with the Bucs, and that brought me back.
  18. Wait, so Bally will still carry the Brewers this season?
  19. I don't remember who, but someone here thought he would get 15 to 17 million in 2025. lol I'm not sure anyone else agreed, but that was pretty far off the mark. No one predicted the 26 mutual buyout though.
  20. I would bet that it was the Cardinals, as I thought I saw a rumor that they had at least talked to him.
  21. Keep telling yourself that man, I'll just sit here with a big bowl of popcorn and watch the Cardinals find their "Coupe de Ville Hidin' at the bottom of a Cracker Jack box." (Extra points to anyone getting that reference) I hope you're right, I hope they suck butt for another season, but I wouldn't bet on it. I think the Reds are going to be the team that makes a lot of noise, and in the end, if it isn't us, they should be in the best shape to take the division.
  22. According to Jeeho Yoo of the Yonhap News, Hyun Jin Ryu signed with Hanwha Eagles of the Korea Baseball Organization. The Hanwha Eagles have said nothing is confirmed, but is looking likely Jin Ryu will return to his former team in the KBO. According to Naver Sports, the deal is worth a little under $13 million over 4 years. Jin Ryu pitched for the Eagles from 2006-2012 and has said in the past he would finish his baseball career with the team. In his 7 seasons with the Eagles, Jin Ryu posted a 2.80 ERA, 1.15 WHIP over 181 starts. The 36-year-old lefty, who came back from Tommy John surgery last season, was unable to find a deal in MLB after spending the last 4 seasons with the Blue Jays. Last season, he made 11 starts and posted a 3.46 ERA, 1.29 WHIP across 52 innings. A reunion with the Hanwha Eagles, the team that began his professional career, seems pretty fitting. 23. Too bad we can't see more than one swing. I truly hope this is the direction he is now taking, but wonder why it took this long for someone to recognize that the old swing wasn't going to work with MLB pitching. Having Wiemer meet his potential this year would be a HUGE plus moving forward.
