  1. Our front gate faces north and in the winter when we get freezing rain/blowing snow, moisture gets into the keyhole and it freezes. I did a search for keyhole cover and was shocked that I couldn't find anything like that. It's a gate so both knobs are going to be on the outside. I don't think that a keypad will work with the gate. Any ideas on how to prevent moisture from getting into the keyhole?
  2. Nice to see Morales finally find success after struggling for so long. Really surprised that they hadn't released him after his 2017-2019 years. Makes you wonder what the thresholds are and why some guys like him get a longer leash while others are out in year 2.
  3. CPI flat from June, down if you exclude housing costs. Supply chain pressures easing, starting to hear of gluts in some products/commodities. If you're thinking of making a big purchase, hold off for a month if you can.
  4. No, it's just irrational Suter hate. People think that he's a much worse pitcher than he really is. As evidenced by the fact that Suter's numbers over the three previous seasons are almost exactly the same as McGee's. Suter (2019-2021): 123.1 IP, 37 ER, 40 BB, 122 K, 14 HRs, 2.70 ERA McGee (2019-2021): 121.1 IP, 44 ER, 24 BB, 126 K, 20 HRs, 3.26 ERA People just think McGee is better because he had a bunch of saves last year.
  5. And as far as McGee vs. Suter, McGee (in a very small sample) had a 6.35 ERA, 6.82 FIP, 1.41 WHIP, and 3.2 HR/9. Suter has a 4.22 ERA, 4.28 FIP, 1.22 WHIP, and 1.1 HR/9 this year. How is keeping Suter over McGee even debatable? McGee was released by the Giants for a reason.
  6. I could be smarky and ask which GMs you polled who said that the Brewers would be able to get a similar return for Hader in 2023. But it's definitive statements like these that are what people are criticizing because the reality is that none of us know what Hader would have fetched in 2023. One former GM has said publicly that pitchers get a better return at the deadline and hitters get a better return in the offseason. If that's true, then it may be very likely that the Brewers got a better return for Hader now. Certainly the more games a player can be used, the higher the value, thus the higher return - on a games available basis, he certainly has more value now than in 2023. Plus, teams have to account for risk. If Hader gets injured, or if he has more games like last night, he sure as heck won't return similar to what he did last week. There certainly is risk to the Brewers holding on to Hader, and that was clearly demonstrated last night. But the reality is that none of us know what is going to happen in the future, so stop making definitive statements.
  7. As of yesterday, the Brewers led the majors in OBP, SLG, and (of course) OPS since the All-Star break. Not getting a bat has, so far, not been an issue.
  8. Counsell is finally saving his best relievers for extras.
  9. Boushley has a .678 OPS-A vs. LHB in AAA this year. Suter has a .630 OPS-A vs. LHB in the majors this year.
  10. That's coming from Jeff Potrykus, the MJ-S reporter whose full-time job is to cover the Badgers football team. It's literally his job to watch all of the game film. What you're missing are all of the plays where a receiver was open but Mertz didn't even look at him.
  11. Chances of each (making the opening day roster/seeing the majors in 2023) Ruiz: (80%/99%) - at the minimum will compete with Davis for the #5 OF spot, but they may want him to get more experience in CF before bringing him up. If McCutchen doesn't come back and/or they trade Hiura then Yelich spends a lot more time as the DH and Ruiz is a shoe-in for the roster. Turang: (80%/99%) - it makes a lot of sense for him to replace Wong as the starting 2B and platoon with Brosseau/Urias to set him up for success as they have to add him to the roster after the season. There is a chance that the Brewers wait until June so that they can Super-2 him. Frelick: (40%/80%) - I think there is a very high chance they Super-2 him, but he may force the issue and hit his way onto the roster. Barring the slim chance of a major regression that keeps him in the minors, he'll likely be up at some point, but if Ruiz takes a step forward and shows what he did this year isn't a fluke then I don't think they bring up Frelick to sit on the bench. Mitchell: (10%/50%) - barring multiple injuries to Yelich/Renfroe/Taylor I think he goes back to AAA for more experience, but if there are injuries they may go with him over Frelick to preserve Frelick's Super 2 status and option years. Wiemer: (2%/25%) - he needs to look a lot better than what he's looked like the last two months to have any chance of seeing Milwaukee in 2023.
  12. Go back and watch film from last year and count the number of times that Mertz missed open receivers. WRs getting open weren't the issue.
  13. We have an Ernesto W. Martinez sighting - and he goes yard!
  14. First team offense and defense so far in fall camp https://twitter.com/ZachHeilprin/status/1556670243568844800?s=20&t=bVzDwFvGu7xjKyR1dxzp-w https://twitter.com/ZachHeilprin/status/1556670374032674817?s=20&t=bVzDwFvGu7xjKyR1dxzp-w Second team OL: LT - Rucci, LG - Barrett/Benzschawel, C - Bortolini, RG - Wedig, RT - Mahlman There are some who believe Mahlman will overtake Brown. There are some who believe Bortolini will take over starting RG once the season starts and is just getting reps at C in camp to be ready as the backup C.

  16. Counsell has some explaining to do. Doesn't keep Rogers in to face Cruz leading off the 9th in game one, then doesn't bring Rogers in the 10th with Reynolds, Gamel, and Cruz due up.
  17. Rogers must not be available. How in the world do you not go lefty with Reynolds, Gamel, and Cruz coming up?
  18. You can take Underwood out of the Cubs, but you can't take the Cubs out of Underwood
  19. Already happening with Amazon and their partnership with Rivian
  20. Davis is out of options and cannot be sent down without exposing him to waivers.
  21. 1) I think the point is that it's only $1.7M, not $4.775. B) Suter has five years of service time so he can't be sent down. He had 4 years and 161 days of service time at the beginning of the season. Or did you really mean "put down"...
  22. It's very likely that they needed Lamet as an emergency bullpen guy yesterday in case the game went well into extra innings so that they could wait and activate Peralta today. They may also have wanted to see him in a side session in person before crystalizing their decision to DFA him.
