    94 on that fastball to Happ. A good pitch on the edge of the zone, but not the 97/98 that you expect from Woodruff. Hopefully he isn't battling a minor injury or the hand numbness again.

    Caleb Jones looks like he's dropped at least 30 lbs from last year at Indiana. Looks to be in much better shape, and that appears to be translating to on-field performance. On a related note, has Rasheed Walker been seen anywhere? Saw him on the sidelines with a do-rag and no helmet; don't know if he's hurt, but he hasn't been on any injury report. At this point, it would seem that they are higher on Jones than Walker.

    Vinyard had some interesting numbers this past season - 15.1 K/9, 3.4 BB/9. Had a much lower BB rate (1.7/9) and WHIP (1.097) the prior season. Strictly a reliever. Beymer had unimpressive numbers at Campbell, but looked much better in a small sample in two summer leagues.

    Did anything happen with Rosenthal? Only 3 batters, 17 pitches, one HR and a single.

    Just to be clear, the $15M number being thrown around is an arbitration estimate assuming another typical Hader-like season as he is still pre-Arby's and not a free agent until 2024. At this rate, no way will he get $15M in arbitration. I don't see Hader getting more than the $11M he is getting this season.

    Well, if he's up on 8/24 then we know that the plan is for him to be their starting CF in 2023.

    With a 9-person lineup it has to happen somewhere.

    It's not about Counsell-colored glasses, it's more about not putting too much pressure on him by sticking him in the 1-2 spot that makes me think that if he comes up he starts batting 9th until he get acclimated to the big league pitching and shows he can handle being at the top of the lineup.

    When the same cast of characters keep saying that the game's over as soon as the opponent scores a run - or like in yesterday's game, after the first two batters walked - it becomes a miserable place to be. People have a right to express their opinions.... up until the point that it makes for a bad experience for others.

    2020 as well - five draft picks, and got Mitchell and Wiemer out of it. Two years later both are in AAA.

    And the Dodgers can pay him $16M/year to do so out of the pen. So far this year, that's almost $500K/inning.
