  1. I think the Bucks tried to go "All in" albeit rather poorly. This is why I appreciate how the Brewers have managed their team. It is a little different, but still similar in that the Brewers could ship off a bulk of their future to try and get a World Series now.
  2. I keep hearing the "experts" say that Giannis is gone after this year. I hope that doesn't happen. I think they could trade Dame and fill in around Giannis a lot better. They probably need to get rid of Lopez, too.
  3. Blackwell checking out the NBA:
  4. Gee... I guess the Royals must have torpedo bats. If the Brewers give up another double-digit performance today, I'm going to side on the fact that it is more about the Brewers AAA pitching roster than it is about torpedo bats.
  5. Here is my sarcastic overreaction: Brewers first to 100 losses 😉
  6. I heard it might be a little ways off. I guess the robots would have trouble with the movement of the ball. Doesn't make sense to me. A strike is a strike is a strike. Unless Aaron Judge is up there.
  7. That is the Bauers we remember. The poster boy for 3PO.
  8. Judge is not using one. https://www.mlb.com/news/yankees-discuss-new-torpedo-bats
  9. It probably also helped that Cortes was serving up melons for them to crush.
  10. Mac needs to remember that he is the Athletic Director, not just the Football Director.
  11. I literally cried when the USA boycotted the '80 Olympics simply for Lee Kemp. I wish I had the opportunity to meet him now that I am much older. Ben Peterson came and spoke at our school. Not too many people knew who he was, but it was awesome to have somebody of his stature came to podunk Wisconsin... Those were the days.
  12. I got to see him wrestle at the old gym in Marquette. I got his autograph, too, but it is long gone. My dad was a wrestling coach and he always talked about Dan Gable. I was too young to remember Gable, but certainly remember Lee Kemp. The Badger teams were solid. Hellickson actually called our house once and asked for him -- for a story for the Crossface paper. When I answered the phone, I thought he was joking. LOL Funny story -- I had to have PT on my surgically repaired elbow when I was in high school. My therapist was Jim Haines' sister. Very cool.
  13. The Dan Gable loss in the last match of his college career might be the biggest in NCAA history. 😉 Another big wrestling moment was when Rulon Gardner beat the undefeated Aleksander Karelin (The Russian Bear) in the Olympics. Gardner wrestled at Nebraska.
  14. Um... maybe if they were selling a different type of weed... 😉
  15. I haven't played D&D for almost 40 years. I used to DM in high school. I was invited by some random guys in high school who were older and that game actually helped me to break out of my shell (with a +2 sharp sword of protection, no less). I do miss it, but it takes time for DMs to come up with original campaigns that are worth while. Although I am not playing now, this would still be a cool present:
  16. I didn't mention this much during the Wisconsin / Montana game because my Cardinal-colored glasses were in full bloom. So, I'll change the context. It almost seems like teams that don't play bully ball are getting penalized. Maybe I just watched a handful of games where it was blatantly obvious guys were getting destroyed underneath or thrown out of the way during a rebound. If you play sound defense, fine, but you can get extremely physical and that is ok. Maybe I'm noticing it more this year than in years past. Obviously the officials swallow the whistles more in the big dance. What I would hate to see is a team like Wisconsin makes it to the National Championship game. They are performing really well at halftime, but then the whistles come out in the second half -- against the Badgers. Hypothetically, they could be playing a blue blood with, maybe, a hall of fame coach. Not that we would ever see something like that... 😉 To be serious, I would like to see consistency. That's all.
  17. "Considerably less..." Back when I was younger, $321.1 was considered a s***-ton of money. I guess it isn't enough, anymore. Wow... that is a lot of money. Millionaires and Billionaires, right?
  18. I see the line for the BYU game is Wisconsin -1.5. If Wisconsin plays like they did against Purdue or Arizona, I think it will be a certain victory. It does concern me how they have played the last couple of weeks (sans the game against UCLA).
  19. I have a feeling they will be in Milwaukee if they win and somewhere else if they lose. I would be surprised if they get a 2.
  20. That would be awesome. I'm afraid that Klesmit might get into the "Shooters shoot and I'm going to keep shooting." I think he has done a good job (along with timely subs) recently. We will see.
  21. I failed to pick up on the meter of the poetry. I didn't like poetry, really... Perhaps a limerick? New Era released a new hat. They thought it would really be phat. After trials and views, As experts did muse, The product was labeled as shat.
  22. Gotta love the depth. Wade Miley version 2 as far as providing depth?
  23. If the game is close towards the end, the Badgers are done. The turnover by McGee with around 1:30 to go was a nonchalant garbage pass. It looked almost like the pass Crowl had against Oregon. It would seem like the coaching staff needs to come up with something a little different in these close, end-game situations. Fool me once, shame on you... fool me twice, shame on me.
