    He is certainly bipolar in those podcasts. “ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE!!!!” He has been saying that a lot lately. He was calling for Counsell’s head earlier in the year when the lineup wasn’t meshing. Then he spoke about how it was so awesome that the lineup was working. Basically, he has a podcast mimicking, what often happens on this board 😂

    I turned on the closed captioning and rewound the game and that is what he said. She left because she was under the weather.

    I think they would have done better. Recall -- Gary Andersen tried to revamp the offense and see where that got him? They went back to being tough up front only to go away from it when Fickell came back.

    I am encouraged by what I have seen so far. The offense is showing more than they did last year. In the past, on the TD, our quarterback would have either thrown it out of bounds or threw it so hard that it would have been dropped. There was one play by Joseph where he hit a WR screen before the receiver cleared knowing he would be there. This would have been an epic failure during the past few years.

    I do not want to see the Notre Dame fans complain about the replay for Michigan's game. Why even have replay? That said, the ball shouldn't have bounced off the returner's chest plate. Who was the returner? I don't know because the tv guys have maybe said the names of 6 Badgers the entire game. What a joke.

    I have a feeling that May was here to be more of an innings eater than anything else. He should be doing better for sure.

    Keep the hands quiet and get back to basics. Also, don't worry so much about lifting the ball to the pull side. That is when the timing gets out of whack. I keep thinking of Paul Molitor -- he had very quiet hands.

    Our view of the scoreboard during a chunk of the game: There were a lot of glitches. It was interesting during the seventh inning stretch because you could tell what fans really knew the words to “Take me out to the Ballgame” and “Beer Barrel Polka.”

    Great article, but BATTERMIND has got me thinking a little bit about blueberry muffins (the "batter" part)... 😉 I was thinking last night about how the Brewers have been able to use parts interchangeably. Dustin May gets drilled and Robert Gasser steps in. Sal Frelick is injured, takes time off, and Luis Lara steps in. Cooper Pratt needs to sit in the corner and Joey and Hamilton step in. Wash... rinse... repeat. I am currently a CTO. During my career when I would design a network, I would need to design redundancies. What happens if a cable between the 15th and 16th floor is cut? What if the HVAC company floods the server room when trying to put in a new air conditioning unit? In the IT space, this is commonly referred to as "N+1". Copilot gives the following defintion: I believe it applies to the Brewers. This is an overarching design, but doesn't address things that occur in the foxhole. The article focuses on this perfectly. Also, if someone needs to leave the foxhole (Dustin, Sal, Abner, etc.), they don't need to fear that their job won't be there. They can work hard and earn their place on the field (Joey). These things are not unique to the Brewers -- they just do it well... and continue to get better at it.

    I remember our Spanish teacher making it a point that we put a space when using "a lot". He allotted a lot of time to talk about "a lot." I find that I shake my head when seeing things like that. Oh well. I still need to learn much of the texting vernacular, FWIW.

    Finally saw the Odyssey this week. Never read it from Homer. I though it was done really well. Would have been a good film to write on for my film class... way back in 1990... 😉

    A little off topic, but when I see pitchers like Cal Quantrill and Andrew Painter, it reminds me of their fathers... ... who played at the University of Wisconsin!!!!! Bring back baseball!

    What is one of the qualities that people have touted about Murphy? That he knows how to coach young players. Some of the moves I have seen him make (Frelick, Pratt, Gasser) remind me of what a college coach would do. I thought that Frelick was unfairly singled out at times. I think Frelick was one of the first ones to talk to Pratt when he came off the field. That... is culture. Putting Pratt in the next day told me it was a learning experience for a young player. If Murphy would have kept Pratt out of the lineup the next day, then I would have questioned it more. I truly believe Pratt will be better because of it. Murphy knows the players much better than we do (unless there is a closet Brewers employee on the board). He is the captain and so far, he has directed the ship in the right direction.

    It is because he CONSTANTLY looks back at the ball. When he was running to third, he kept looking back. Then when he scored, he kept looking back. Run hard and pick up the third baseman or the on deck hitter. Plain and simple

    To think -- 5 or so years ago, no one, from the national media to any IGT, wouldn't have cared. Now you have MLB Network talking about it. Seems to be if the national media is focusing on something like this, the Brewers have earned their way into the national media discussion.
