  1. Awesome - TWO Stokes-like players in the same draft year!
  2. At this point, start Miller, let him at least light up the scoreboard with his bat. We get runs that way. The fact is, Arcia was called up too soon. Regressing to a .720ish OPS in Colorado Springs after an .800 OPS at Biloxi should have been a red flag. He needed more seasoning in the minors. At this point, get Hager to AAA, and maybe also try to give Moore a shot. Segura was still turned into Yelich via Isan Diaz. The same can still happen with Arcia.
  3. Nasty Boys 2018: Jeffress, Hader, Knebel Slamming the door on the Cubs.
  4. If Anderson is back to his 2017 form, and Guerra is pitching more like his 2016 version... this team's in great shape.
  5. With who the Crew had, I didn't like the Logan and Albers signings. Albers was lights out until recently, but Logan... the Crew could have gotten the same numbers with Wei-Chung Wang. Right now, you have the Nasty Boys of Knebel/Hader/Jeffress as the top tier, with Taylor Williams and Barnes as the second tier. Jennings hasn't been too bad, and the last two slots seem to be held down by a rotation with Albers out.
  6. Going from an .800-ish OPS in Biloxi to a .720-ish in Colorado Springs was a huge red flag for me. Especially when Villar was raking at SS. I'd have used Arcia in a package. Still would like to, if there's a tea that'll overpay for web gem defensive plays.
  7. Stokes is for real... It's between him and Roegner for #1 on my next top 25 ballot. Plus,. I think the Crew drafted two more like him in Micah Bello and Arbert Cipion.
  8. I probably would. Davies has had setbacks this year, possibly due to injury (he's been on the DL twice now). I'm of the opinion that the Brewers could have sold high on him and used a Davies+Arcia package to get a TOR starter and some help elsewhere. Use some combo of Perez/Villar/Orf/Sogard/waiver pickups to handle SS and 2B.
  9. I say get the best guy on the board, period. I'm sure they can work out something to get him to sign.
  10. Roegner seems to be showing the promise to be that TOR arm... and he was a 22nd-round pick.
  11. Bello excites me - I get a bit of a Troy Stokes vibe from those reports... and we know how Stokes has emerged. Turang's report seems to indicate he has very good OBP skills and he can hit for average. I'm hoping to get a Jeff Cirillo-type bat at shortstop - a clear upgrade over Arcia at the position.
  12. They produce. What's not to like about them?
  13. I think it would be worth it. If Arcia is still slumping, re-acquiring Scooter gives the Crew the option to put Villar at short - where there is at least 100 points of OPS improvement to be had. There needs to be some upgrade in the offense. Catcher may not be an option, but getting Scooter can boost both 2B and SS.
  14. I'm beginning to wonder if Suter may not have a future as a pitching coach after his playing career ends. Not that he will have a bad career... Also, will we see Roegner head up to AA?
  15. LOVED it... just like what they did to the Cubs last year after creaming them 15-2. Besides, it's the Cardinals.
  16. Keep Arcia down, use Perez at short. Call up someone else.
  17. Things like this go a long ways in a marathon season. Leadership is good on this team and it’s showing. He also had a good game as well. I predicted this team could be World Series champs. Games like this make me feel very optimistic.
  18. How about we acquire a 2B so Villar can play shortstop again?
  19. I just think that relies too heavily on a guy who was absolutely terrible last year (Guerra), and a guy coming off a major injury (Nelson) to be comfortable with. And it again assumes that none of them get injured along the way. I will agree with Clancy, though: no need to break the bank, but I'd expect a modest deal for a solid starter arm. Ideally, it is for a controllable arm, no rentals for a few months.
  20. If they get to Suter's spot, I'm OK with pinch-hitting then. Give Taylor Williams two IP, hand it to Jeffress or Hader to close out.
  21. And Villar bouncing back some, Aguilar hot... Saladino having a hot streak...
  22. If they get some more runs from the top of the order, why not let Suter go six? If he is pulled after five, then there may be a need to pinch-hit for whoever relieves him. I'd rather run him out for one ore frame, and then either let him hit or pinch-hit in the bottom of the sixth.
  23. Suter has had some gopher ball problems this year. That said... he's still a solid option, and at a price that is very hard to beat.
