  1. Bedard will be lucky to pitch at all next season.
  2. No he's likely thinking about bringing him back because he made all his starts more than his record
  3. Hardy's WAR for the last 3 years: 4.5, 4.9, 1.4. Guthrie's WAR for the last three years: 2.6, 2.5, 1.1. So we are trading the younger more talented player for an older player likely past his prime.
  4. By that I mean for a guy who doesn't strike many out he walks too many. He's also likely past his prime (31 in April) and so his two decent seasons on 2007 and 2008 are likely his career years.
  5. Sure but he doesn't strike anyone out and has control issues.
  6. There is no such thing as healthy for Harden though. He's 150 innings at best.
  7. Sorry that makes no sense. Bush will cost less than Looper, is a better pitcher and under 30. And Parra is better than Suppan or Looper too.
  8. How do you get the same result? Hart has no trade value right now. He's had back to back crappy years. And why are we moving the young player from 3B to make room for the older one with knee issues?
  9. Well, I wouldn't give Rivera that many starts, I'd go more with a 3/2 for the catchers whoever they are. That said players tend to hit better when playing full time vs part time. This year and in 2006 when he got about 150 PAs he had a .325 OBP both times with BABIP of .278 and .296. Again its not so much Rivera is good that Kendall is bad and in all phases at this point.
  10. I'd just rather sign Blanco and have him and Rivera split time than give up anything of real value for Suzuki.
  11. Rivera has a WAR of 0.4 compared to Kendall's 0.7 in 1/4 the PAs. They both look to have an OBP around .325-.330.
  12. Washburn's WAR for the past three years: 1.8,1.3, 2.0. Suppan: 2.7, -0.1, -0.4. Suppan had a career year in 2007 and now has been replacement level for two seasons. He's Claudio Vargas who is free talent. I don't do th trade unless it equals salary so Bradley can be cut at any time but if the Cubs basically pay the entire difference I would have to do it.
  13. Keep in mind the Cubs and the Chicago media determined in June that Bradley was the fall guy for the season.
  14. Cooper apparently was hated by some in the clubhouse so his days were numbered but in many ways this seems like a "Mets move." By that I mean how the Mets always need to do something so the owner doesn't think he's being overshadowed by other New York sports teams. The Texans just had a big win...
  15. To me this has more to do with length of the contract. The NBA looks to be cutting the cap down again and in 2 years that Sessions contract could be unmovable. If they could have kept him for one year I think they do it. --------------- Continued in Milwaukee Bucks Thread 2009–2010.
  16. Its fine for what it does. The water does prevent there from getting a "true" smoke but not really a big deal. Lining the water pan with foil helps a lot with the cleaning. The water pan is really there to collect drippings from falling on the fire.
  17. Looper's K/9 fell, his BB/9 went up, his HR/9 went up, and his fastball lost 1 mph. There just is really no reason to feel like this is a fluke. The best you can hope is Looper regains his 2007 form which has a WAR of 1.2 compared to this year's -0.6. The Brewers are stuck with Suppan, Bush outpitched Looper when healthy and Looper has an expensive option.
  18. It was also a Milwaukee Packer game.
  19. Well suspending Bradley is much easier than admitting that Soriano is the real culprit. Yeah Bradley wasn't what they expected but he at least wasn't playing at below replacement level.
  20. That's the biggest issue. Turning Cameron at $10m for one year into a pitcher (Lackey) costing $12-15m over 4 years is a tough feat.
  21. Getting Suzuki as a stop gap isn't bad. Trading Gamel for him is.
  22. The Rays are looking to cut salary not add it.
  23. Try turning off your Verizon stuff for a bit. If that clears it up that's your problem. It might have installed incorrectly, it might have an update that didn't go right, it could just be junk.
  24. Its way too early to tell. Sheets might very well need another 1/2 season to get ready which means Boston is likely the only team that will take a flyer on him for a Penny type deal.
